Honestly when they are toxic since blizz isn’t going to do anything we should just all turn our sens to 100 so its not throwing we’re just bad and they will lose sr the toxic people will eventually be bronze and not having fun. this will ruin their gameplay and finally make ours enjoyable. #ToxicEqualsLoss

im sure people would love to know that you dont think depression is real. do you not think overwatch can cause depression. are you saying rape is more important than depression so if someone throws all your games its ok cause its not illegal.

Toxicity would be less of a problem if the development team had the braincells to make individual action and performance directly impact your SR gain and loss significantly. The only times I feel frustrated playing OW is when i’m doing everything I can to win and we are still losing terribly unable to get on the point, with the loud players being the ones doing nothing. I’m sick of being the best performing support or DPS in the lobby (supported by cards literally every time; 45% of healing done with silver damage & gold elims on support and i’m still being penalized the exact same as our tank with a negative k/d lmao)
In other games like Apex, I don’t get frustrated nearly as much, because individual performance is actually important & you can practice even in a ‘bad game’ lobby. Whereas in Overwatch, the only thing I can do aside from continuing to try is just try to beat my average damage/elims/healing per 10 minutes or something lmao.
Side note: overwatch is so terribly unplayable and focused too much on team performance in SR gain a loss. I was playing on an alt and ended up playing with a duo of Master smurfs who thought I was their friend or something. Anyway, they were struggling to carry in plat lobbies due to how terrible some of our tanks were… we climbed to low diamond and then dropped 300 SR with how imbalanced the lobbies were. You can bet that the most toxic players in the match were the tanks who just fed.
TLDR: toxicity is encouraged by poor competitive design, people get madder easier because of the stupid game design. Usually the most toxic people are the ones who are the reason the team is losing, so try to ignore them. Blizzard doesn’t moderate the game anymore and we can only hope it changes in OW2…

I’m on board. So long as we all agree to draw the line where your feelings get hurt… for consistency purposes of course, surely we can’t all have the honor to draw the line or all games will be thrown. We’re all entitled to our feelings and emotions, after all.
On the other side, we can’t let the mature folks with that thick skin make the call to action because then those toxic folks will never make it to bronze. I swear some people won’t get offended by anything, it’s bonkers.

How about you play the game and don’t throw? You say these people are toxic, but you’re becoming the exact thing you hate.
Legit, just mute the chats. You can disable all forms of text chat forever if you wanted to and just not join VC. That’s what I’ve done and I actually have fun playing the game now.

It wouldn’t work.
You would run into so many toxic people and the only constant thrower would be you, so the only person that would derank would be you.
I would recommend reporting, muting and avoiding.
