Torb's Turret needs to be nerfed so badly

I don’t care how “easy” it is to destroy. If you don’t have your whole team focusing it down, it completely removes your dps from the fight, many characters literally lose the dps race and it outranges literally everything in the whole game.
There is no reason for it to have as much damage and range as it has, and torb being able to just drop it in a 1v1 and instantly win because of it is absolutely ridiculous.
Damage needs to go down, range needs to go down. period. This turret is outrageous. and doesn’t belong in the game.

dont start about “it sits still and only has 250 health”
it literally outdamages most characters, you literally CANT destroy it, it will just kill you because it has more damage - and health - than you

this has to be made by a tracer otp :sob:

“Whole team?” It’s not a raid boss :joy:

It’s 250 hp and doesn’t move.

EDIT:

It has lower DPS than Winston’s dinky LMB (albeit at much greater range.) How on earth are you failing to outperform that, especially on something that, again, cannot dodge?

you’re not wrong,
but I always switch off tracer as soon as I see a torb
problem is nothing counters it, sombra has to put herself in a lot of danger to take it out, it outranges any long range character, pharah it will literally take out of the sky from the opposite side of the map
It doesn’t have any counterplay, even reaper can’t take it out without losing a LOT of health

Sojorn can literally fire her disruptor at it with 0 risk to her.

Opinion nullified. .

I find Widow harder to deal with than Torb turret.

In low Elo

Honestly, it’s not too big of a hinderance once you get the hang of it and the workarounds

If he drops it in a 1v1, either focus down the turret before it starts firing or back off if you can’t kill the Torb in time - it has a windup and won’t start firing immediately so there is counterplay

If it’s firing at your team at a range then just try and poke it down while bobbing in and out of cover. If you have a support on you then you can focus it down easier

If you’re the support and see a turret which your team is too busy to deal with, then it’s youre job to get rid of it. Destroying constructs like Torb’s and Sym’s turrets is a side job to the role as a support, so be mindful

If you genuinely cannot deal with it, then ping its location and go at it with your team, if the Torb bunkers down with it then go in on both of them as a team and score the free kill

you can j1ggle (censored idk why) with many ranged characters and kill the turret safely + the turret doesnt actually do that much damage so you dont need to worry abt dying to it. its meant to be strong against chars that cant easily kill it like tracer or reaper but overall it shouldnt be too hard to play around

aimbot 75 dps thats a LOT
most characters simply can’t match it

1v1 but ow isnt a 1v1 game is it

1 dps with decent range is enough to clear a turret

except it’s not because the turret outdamages them
the few characters that can take out the turret on their own need to invest their entire kit into it, which is ridiculous for something that will come back online in 10 seconds and requires zero effort or skill from the torb

any examples? I dont see how thats the case at all

It does 56 DPS (4 times 14 per second). If you are not able to deal with a stationary turret, then you should maybe question your FPS skills.

This is usually how it goes.

  1. Damaging someone else.
  2. Figure out you are being shot by turret. Take a second to start moving to cover + orient yourself to where is the turret.
  3. Now down to 3/4 hp for that second lull you now need to deal 250 hp in short order.
  4. No burst DPS options on cooldown. Can only do primary fire.
  5. Say Pharah DPS with only 140 direct hits. Take a moment to line up shot proceed to fire 3 rockets at only 0.85per second.
  6. Took 143 dmg in the time it took to kill turret. Now down to low health.

That’s usually how things go. Now, obviously, with team dynamics this changes up. Turret might explode faster. You might be getting healed to just destroy it faster. Possibly have an ability to blow it up faster like Echo stickies or Helix rocket. Many heroes actually have like close to 100 DPS overall. If you are getting shot at trying to take turret down it gets to stay up a bit longer. You might even just flat out die distracted by turret.

Though overall Torbjorn is quite balanced. It does require people to play a bit slower and grab some more ranged DPS. Mainly just punishes short range flankers who try to play solo who suddenly can’t get away with relying upon people missing shots against them to play in a very dangerous position away from the help of their team.

Use projectile heroes. They do not have fall off dmg (well, most of them).

No, it does not. Literally most things outrange the turret. Pick Pharah, Hanzo, Mei, Torb, Zen, Junkrat etc.

They all can quickly dispose of it out of its range. And if it’s a close target in a corner of a choke, it gets destroyed much quicker, too.
You could also try to engage it when it locks onto your tank and you avoid grtting hit by torb himself so it does not switch on you.

You destroy the turret before it transforms into the 2nd stage in a 1v1 with torb.

A 1v1 against torb is a bad idea anyway due to overload. And a good torb would use the turret to block one of your abilities/cooldowns.

And the turret also draws power from the rest of Torb’s kit. Neither Torb nor his turret are busted.

Your first post, i stopped reading after you said it takes an entire team to kill torb’s stationary turret. But I’m really questioning whether you’ve actually played sombra because she can disable the turret while cloaked.

Only disable, and only for a short period
