I’ve been waiting for a torbjorn nerf since he was reworked. At the moment torbjorn is like a psychological weapon, his turret serves like an extra hero. Torbjorn without his turret is strong enough especially with the buff there planning on adding to him. He already has high damage basic attack damage, it’s close to reaper’s damage but has a lot less spread than reapers. This means it takes Torb 4 shots with secondary fire to kill a full health reinhardt. Keep in mind that Torbjorn also has a turret that does 56 damage per second. Now we can talk overload that allows him to move 30% faster, reload faster, and gives him a shield for 100 health for 5 seconds, ALL ON A 10 SECOND COOLDOWN! this means that it’s actually on a 5 second cooldown. Now for his ultimate molten core, with Torbjorns damage this ultimate charges very quickly. Molten core which can zone of an entire point and does 25 damage on impact and 160 damage per second. For comparison reapers death blossom does 170 damage per second.
This causes balance issues, on a team Torbjorn is protected making it extremely difficult to kill him. Torbjorn also greatly limits the hero’s the enemy team can choose, characters like Tracer, Pharah, Sombra, and echo are completely useless against him while he limits many of the other hero choices. He also limits the play style of game, people will always know where you’re coming from based on what Torbs turret is doing. In other words Torb can stop a team from sneaking on point from different directions. He also can cause the enemy team to group up with his turret and can also separate them with molten. There are very few characters are a counter to him, the best way to counter him is with a sniper. It’s still difficult to kill him sniper because he’s generally behind his team or being protected by them. Torbjorn has way to much control over the enemy. He’s too strong a hero for a team.
Same. The turret can be a nuisance if I’m being shot at from multiple places, but Torb himself isn’t a problem to take out.
As for Echo, I find Torb to be little more than free ult charge 90% of the time. His stocky little body makes him a very easy target for sticky-beam comboing.
If you’re going to nerf torb in any way, lower his coom globs to 8 (I think it’s at 10 right now) just so Torb has to think more with his ult and it doesn’t deny an entire point plus more
The op isn’t wrong. According to over buff, while not maintaining a high pick rate, he still is in the lead for this weeks win rate at 57.64% and even leading this whole month win rate at 56.62%. He is literally dominating In silver to Diamond where his win rates are close to 60%. This was all PC statistics too, On console he is much worse. If we are being honest with ourselves, he isn’t a high skill hero. His skill to reward ratio is inflated beyond reason and gets too much value for the average player. They should look to rework him again, less emphasis on turret, more on the player.
He actually does need a nerf to his ult charge given that he can have it every god dam fight but people are still under the delusion that he is a meme pick here
I also wanted to mention this but unsure if Overbuff is glitched/bugged maybe just me?
It says Torb’s damage is getting to the same level as Bastion damage at ~17,500 nearly tied for second place this week at all ranks. But for some reason it says Mei does an average damage of 40,000 damage a game, which has to be a mistake. So I decided not to include the damage in the argument.
