His turret feels like a side feature, and his Overload is a mini nano on cooldown. And his whole theme surrounding armor just got completely reversed.
I don’t think they went the right way with this.
My proposed changes:
Keep turret changes (throwable but with reduced health. No more level 1 turret. Target prioritization. That kind of thing.)
Revert Ult back to the former molten core.
Put current Molten core on E, but with only one splash of lava rather than the multiple shots he gets now.
Scrap armour pack system. Instead, Torb’s hammer can now be used to repair the armour of other heroes who’s base health has it.
Convert 50 of Torb’s 200 health to armour.
I feel this version of Torbjorn would feel better and more like Torbjorn than the current version. Afterall, it feels like his entire new kit was built just to specifically counter Brigitte, who already has a bunch of counters AND just got ANOTHER nerf. If anything, shouldn’t he synergize WITH his daughter, not be focused on negating her in every way?
It just feels like he completely negates the three heroes he’s supposedly closest to and should perform best when paired with in-lore: Reinhardt, Brigitte, and Bastion. And I feel that that’s just…wrong.
He was actually pretty good outside of his turret requiring a lot of time to prepare and his armor packs being completely reliant on whether or not you were winning. That’s all that needed changing. Other than that, like with his ultimate, he was actually fine and didn’t need changes.
Which is why I agree with the base turret changes they made and the scrapping of the scrap armour system. But I still feel armour should have remained in some way, i.e. repairing other heroes’ armour, and his ultimate should not have been changed.
Because I actually bothered to learn how to play the character effectively, and as such, learned that the widely held perception of the character was baseless and false
How about, like, specific reasons as to why you believed he was better. Because all you’ve given me right now is your claim that the “Widely based perception was baseless and false”. You aren’t giving me much proof here.
It would really help if there were some examples or stats or something to back you guys up, if for no other reason than watching “yes he was” “no he wasn’t” gets old really fast
