With Torbs turret being so weak he serves no purpose. Used to play Torb on first point Numbani, Eichenwalde, Hollywood, Blizzard World , Rialto, Kings Row and full hold people.
He’s always been a defense hero imo, but now he can’t even defend. Useless hero. Torbs turret does no damage to flyers now, if you’re going to nerf his turret this hard you should have made him hitscan so he could be one trickable, playable on attack. Cass 2.0
He has the longest cooldown average in the entire game. And no not literally, but in terms of actions per minute and value per ability.
Both deploy turret and overload are on double digit cooldowns meaning he has some massive downtime windows.
Many will say it’ll take only 12 seconds for deploy turret be up again, but never mention the actual “deploy part” of the ability nor the construction time, before the turret becomes active. Even then its a stationary turret held in place for a subsequent amount of time before it can be moved again. Meaning its just sitting there doing nothing til a target comes within range. To which there is a breif moment for the turret animation to turn, target, then fire.
Then Overload is on a 10 second CD that lasts for 5 seconds. Which only really gives a 5 second window of compensation for Torb to do anything meaningful. Yes it is nice for the reload, but it only really powers up a projectile weapon with a significant bullet drop. Which is much worst than a Hanzo arrow, as Torb’s projectile moves slower and has more drop then Hanzo arrows and less damage.
Even if Torb gets close he has to use his only means of escape to retaliate, meaning he either kills or be killed. That is a situation Torbjorns never want to be in despite how strong he may look in overload. Mostly due to his clunky hitbox mixing with his head hitbox that makes the armor increase almost completely irrelevant.
Don’t even get me started on how insignificant that small movement speed increase is. You barely gain any distance in that amount of time that Overload is moreso a turtle ability compared to other means of mobility that damages or has other meainingful applications.
I play her too. Good lord did they buff her up a lot.
Funny thing is they gave her some power to her gun for all ranges with soke survivability.
Torbjorn…got nothing but a reload on Overload. Good job ya didn’t fix the clunkiest gun in the game by a smidge, you only gave more ammo for him to miss with. Which again is on his panic button ability, that is best saved for emergencies, never used for actual offense. Which he needed in terms of power shifting.
The only heroes that exploit that are melee heroes, and shotgun heroes.
He is already an ez to hit square. The distance is mostly irrelevant.
You have to time your engages. That is why I said he is like an offtank. You use the tank to partially bodyblock for you, you also have Overload to make you briefly tanky… do your thing then disengage.
Torb was strongest poking, popping overload to protect your backline or when you lose hp. Frontlining as torb is silly, and you’ll get destroyed by decent players.
Yeah its rly annoying, makes him so much worse into the only reason you pick him too, which was when they had tracer winston. The hp nerf made it so much easier to 1 clip it as tracer and reduce the risk of doing it and the cd nerf means he doesnt have it up (or is in the process of building) when he needs to setup again when you also account for the fact that torb has to waddle to the off angle where the turret finds tracer while not dying to other enemies.

Look at how many of these interactions Torbjorn just loses out right without his turret. All of then he is expected to win through a 10 second cooldown no less where he can’t keep up.
Torb never needed changes, seriously he was viable and fun to play and extremely effective vs flankers like genji, tracer and sombra. Changing torb for absolutely no reason is why I think the balance team are idiots. Torb is a walking crit box, its really easy to kill him and land headshots on him so its not like he couldn’t be dealt with.
If anything they shouldve made his turret stronger and make him do less shotgun damage because close range right click overload spam against winston is imho the most brainless aspect of his kit even more than his turret because atleast with his turret you have to place it strategically and occassionally move it.
Blizzard wonders why casuals quit this game when they’ve nerfed or reworked every hero that gave them a chance to compete with the hitscans. At this point there’s nothing unique about the game anymore. People have realized they may as well just play a CoD or Apex instead because OW has devolved into a dumber version of those games.
This game is nothing more than hitscans with a final boss tank and some healbotting going on.
So… you are saying you are bad at using Torbjorn’s gun and his turret was carrying you? I dunno about you, but Torbjorn has an awful lot of nice features from having burst damage on projectile with headshot. He has an awful lot of good sustain damage being able to fire 18 rounds of 70dmg each before having to reload.
Having access to a burst + increased survival to turn the tables on tanks. You don’t use turret to solo kill something. You use it to give you some free chip damage, cause a distraction, then chunk people while they aren’t looking at you.
The alt fire reduction on spread is very nice because shooting squishes in close range is even easier than before when more shots will hit the main body or headshot. Nothing has changed other than more of his power needs to come from you than the turret.
