Torb is the best DPS and has the highest skill ceiling

  • 250 base HP including 50 Armor: 2nd best DPS healthpool. Can only be 1-shot by Widowmaker.

  • One of the best abilities in the game: Turret.
Turret is the ultimate zoning ability. Flankers become irrelevant with well placed turrets. And the auto-aim aspect makes up for the inconsistent primary fire.

  • Speaking of primary fire, this is were the ceiling is through the roof.
If you can master Torb’s primary fire, you can basically win every single game. Because 140 headshot at that rate of fire is just too good.
The problem is, I’ve seen no one being able to be consistent with the projectile of Torb, even Top 500 players.

  • Overload: The cherry on top. Takes everything about Torb and makes it better.
Better Turret, better rate of fire, 100 additional armor and speed boost.

yep we been knew torb is insane when minmaxed, but no one has really gotten even close to his skillcap ever, even though there have been 4600+ torb otps with modern iteration.

wait, overclock affect the turret as well?

Yeah turret has a higher rate of fire when overloading.

not sure though. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I don’t think turret is affected with his e

Overload doesnt affect turret.

It does however, affect torb swing speed with hammer so he can repair turret pretty fast if needed to tank dmg.

Best DPS? I dont think so.

Highest skill ceiling? Maybe.

He is strong in the right hands and surprisingly effective.

The downside to Torb is you will rarely get credit for playing him well and even your own team will chalk it up the turret.

Overload doesn’t affect the turret

That was only when it was still his ultimate

BRING BACK LEVEL 3 TURRET

Srsly his ult now is better but man level 3 turret was FUN and COOL.

This is true of most niche heroes, even when they stomp they get no credit. Except maybe when you just melt the entire team as Sym. Torb, Mei, Sombra, Hamster, etc. though, impossible.

Like I say to my teammates, the turret didn’t stand there and hammer itself for 15 minutes, that was all me.

Any ceiling will be the highest from torbs POV……

Torb is like hanzo, if you can effectively land your shots then you are a massive threat to the enemy team. If you spam and hope to get kills then you have no value and might get a few lucky games here and there where the enemy plays like potatoes.

Joking aside, spamming corners is a legit strat. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve one-tapped a Zen or similar that I couldn’t even see.

Hitting those deliberate shots in a duel is the clincher though, I agree.

Max skill ceiling talk is quite meaningless, Torb is balanced with rhe assumption that players will have around 30 to 40 accuracy with his primary fire.

Same with most projectile heroes

Because that’s usually the case with most torb players. Turret plays a significant factor in torb’s effectiveness.

If you 2 tap with a rivet gun hs and turret, it’s difficult to give the torb player credit. Bodyshot Widows don’t get credit either.

he’s one of the best zoners in the game from my experience when paired with ult and turret

torb is scary and i hate him as sombra or tracer since the turret. i am sure that turret deters a lot of flank heroes so yea he can get some value for flankers and protects the backline. also an overloaded torb is almost an i-win button. still think hanzo’s storm arrow is more of an i-win button

edit: actually mccree flash+fth is the best i-win button in overwatch 1

Torb has no actual higher skill ceiling, because when you reach that point his negative aspects come into sharp contrast.

  1. Projectile
  2. Massive hitbox with a head that takes up a 3rd of that hitbox

He does have some really good maps, where you can hit from really good angles, but in general, the higher you go in ranks, the more your hitbox is a massive liability.
