I ended Top 500 in season 8. This morning I logged into Overwatch and received my Top 500 end of season awards. My profile showed that I ended 479 and I equipped the Top 500 Role Challenger Player title. I was also shown on the Top 500 leaderboard.
I logged back into Overwatch and my profile now shows that I am Grandmaster 1 and the Top 500 player title was removed. I also do not have the Grandmaster Role Challenger player title. I am also no longer on the Top 500 leaderboard.

You are not alone in experiencing this bug. I’ve linked the competitive bugs megathread at the bottom of this post, which archives and documents almost every competitive bug.
