Too much mobility

Why not just give every character a “sprint” option at this point? Every new character has some sort of dash or jump.

Let Soldier be special

Let’s be real, if sprint was baseline they’d have to compensate Soldier.

Disagree, mobility has been the best thing to happen to Overwatch

The point is that not every new hero needs to have it.

One of the reasons 2-2-2 is nice is because Tanks generally have more consistent damage to punish over-aggressive mobility, so having a 2nd one on your team goes a long way.

Rework Zen, Ana, and give everyone else mobility while letting the ranged critscans whine about it until Blizz finally nerfs the crit multiplier (+hitboxes), and then we can pull back some of the speed.

Regardless, speed is way more fun than drooling down angles all game for basically free.

I finally figured out what it was about Anran and Vendetta that seemed off. Dmon is how I figured it out. All three of them have a lot of almost random mobility and it makes fighting them insanely obnoxious.

“but Lucio” No lucio is always on the wall. “but Genji” again no he can only jump up and Dash straight. “but Tracer” again no she is very limited and only in straight lines.

Its like they saw how annoying Soldier is to hit when he is just sprinting in tiny circles like a nut and decided to make multiple heros that have that kind of movement in their kit.

Bro can’t outrun anything, lol, ofc he is special at this point

Ive wondered this as well. Like why doesnt Kiri have a sprint option with her tiny knife weapon or Anran whos wearing running shoes? Why cant pilot D.Va sprint? They should give all heroes with small weapons a sprint ability.

Welp, there’s one fps game with baseline movement/mobility set on all heroes – Deadlock. Heroes vary in terms of shooting/damage options, and ability cooldowns. In that game if you want to learn new heroes, you don’t have to change your movement, you have to change your damage and ability cooldown rotations.

Overwatch takes a different approach – everything is varied from hero to hero, especially the movement sets. My favorite movement set is Mercy – I don’t have the patience to learn Mercy parkour, but when I play around a good Mercy it’s an amazing experience. And it’s not just her movement set, she has to have a good map rotation plan at every phase of the map – an excellent Mercy sees at least one GA ahead where she has to be to support anyone in her team and keep herself safe either on high ground or behind a wall out of enemy LOS. In many cases those locations are good spots for dps to shoot from since they are generally good defensible shooting angles. It wouldn’t surprise me to see really good Mercies switch to Ana or Lifeweaver and shoot well.

I like the variation in movement set, it keeps things fresh when I play other heroes in dps and support roles (I used to main tank).

Kiriko has wall climb, that’s so strong I played her on the side while I was learning Genji. Kiriko can navigate the map alone better than most other support heroes except maybe for Juno who has crazy hover skills. :star_struck:

If they buffed Kiriko to give her sprint, I’d fear for what they’d take away in terms of mobility to compensate and keep her balanced.

They could put it on a resource meter

Crazy how despite all this mobility my team still decides to AFK in choke and show no signs of movement.

I’m struggling to keep up with my team as Lucio… Mobility creep is real
