I’m noticing a lot of obvious lock-on aimbots this season, they are pretty easy to spot if you play a character with a knockback: Hit the suspected aimbotter with a knockback before you die and pay attention to the killcam— if they are just good they will lose target for a split second before regaining it, if they are cheating their crosshair will stay locked on through the knockback. If this happens once in a match you can be generous and chalk it up to killcam jankiness, but if it happens twice it’s definitive proof someone is cheating.
Besides what I’ve noticed it seems like the community in general is waking up to the cheating problem. In previous seasons when I’d point out a cheater to my team the response was almost always to defend the cheater. This season, though, is the first time where someone on my team usually agrees when I point out a cheater.

I havent run into any cheaters personally. At least not that I noticed. Though with the replay viewer being bugged, I definitely feel less likely to actually check.
I’ve noticed a slight drop, so it aint too bad compared to the last 2 years. So Idk. I must be playing at the wrong times of day.
its also ppsoible aimbotter code is causing things to glitch
I’ve run into three cheaters so far this season in QP. Walls and aim assist for all of them. Just blatantly obvious when you watch the reply at .25 speed. Reticle snaps to people’s heads despite them being across the map through 2 - 3 walls where there is 0 line of sight kind of stuff. One hard-locking Soldier.

No because it crashes even when you spectate owcs pro matches. Unless they’re cheating too which would be crazy lol
I’ve noticed one soft locking potential cheating dps on my team. The enemy team didn’t say anything but the replay was very suspect

Ya I forgot to mention it in OP, but everything I’m seeing is in QP, I haven’t played any comp this season.
In general I think QP has more cheaters than comp because QP seems to be less stringently moderated. I’ve had comp games in the past stop midmatch because someone was caught cheating, and I don’t think that can even happen in QP.

I went against a hard aimbotting sojourn first day of comp. My entire team and enemy team called it out. Horrible people. Like its insane that cheating isnt detected to end the match!! ITS NOT HARD BLIZ TO DETECT A EXTREMELY HIGH CONSISTENT ACCURACY that my entire team is being decimated by (I was tank so I didn’t feel the cheating except for the one time I died and watched that back)

some softwares code can remain in the games memory til ya close it hoenstly after this season they jsut need to scrap the game permanently

Are you talking about internal cheats? If they’re not done carefully, I think Warden takes fragments of the game memory and hashes them and validates it with the server to check for cheats
warden has never been effective and most cheats these days are external but wardne didnt even work in ow1
I hate having cheaters on my team more than playing against them. At least you can beat the cheater on the other team, having one on my team is a lose/lose situation, I either lose the game or help a cheater win.
Too bad without going back and watching the replay the only evidence of your own team cheating is hoping the cheater gets exposed by a sus POTG.

If it wasn’t for potg I wouldn’t have noticed so yeah that’s accurate. They weren’t like doing crazy work or anything. Like for a low diamond dps player it wasn’t anything obscene, but the aim was pretty snappy and weird
It sucks but I don’t take it to heart myself. Some games you will win because the enemy tank just left, some games you will win because your dps is cheating, and some games you will lose because of both. Idk.

I got accused of aimbotting on Lucio recently, which is hilarious to me for like… layered reasons.
- I was missing more than a few shots. (My vision sometimes gets blurry because of my epilepsy meds)
- How would an aimbot even work with Lucio? His projectiles are so slow and his movement is rapid and chaotic.
game is infested with cheaters. Its been going for years. Sadly blizzard does not care.
