To the ones that are having fun with OW2

Did you guys actually liked OW1?

After playing in the first beta and a few matches in this one, it just seems that the devs are removing everything that attracted me to the game.

Please gimme some PVE news so I have something to look forward to.

I enjoyed OW1 very much.

Then I played the first beta and found it even more enjoyable. OW1 became a bit “dull” after that.

I’ve only played one match of the second beta so far so I can’t really say whether or not that’s changed (It was a pretty good match though)

As Seagull said, OW2 feels like how OW1 was before the game fell into a horrible cycle of power creep, shields and CC every where. It’s back to being an team work action shooter for the most part.

The problem is a lot of OW players have terrible or maybe lets go with lazy FPS fundamental due to years of bulky front lines and easy peel etc due to CC everywhere. OW2 will have a pretty brutal learning curve for those player.

i havent gotten access to this beta yet but on the last beta i had fun

and no, i did not, overwatch 1 was miserable to play in lately.

I really liked the first beta. Haven’t played this one.

OW2 > OW1

I love OW. It’s an incredible game, but for me, it needed to be freshened up. And that comes with OW2.

As soon as double shield became a thing, I lost the motivation to play unless it’s with friends. It’s why I like the beta.

Shooting shields for a couple of years was pretty  for sure.

It’s not all that different for me….I’ve been in gold/plat pretty much the entire time I’ve played….

People say it’s more deathmatchy…but so is OW1 at these levels….it’s not like people ever really play as a team…it’s not like it isn’t already very “sniper friendly”….it’s not like people ever peel for me when I’m playing support…it’s not like tanks every play together….I’m already used to solo tanking given how much I’ve played qpc/OQ/mh

I can see it being a bigger problem for higher ranks….but that’s what? Less than 15% of the population?

Meanwhile a lot of what makes the game a chore to play sometimes is gone……less cc….no double barrier….

Lack of 2CP is a loss for me…but otherwise? It’s not all that different and I could argue it’s an improvement

Shrodingers Overwatch 2; simultaneously literally just Overwatch 1, but also removes so much it’s a completely different game

I loved OW1 up until goats became a thing and then double barrier, bunker comps, and all that and then I started to dislike the game.
Basically when the game slowed down is when most of the player base started to leave for other games like apex, valorant, fortnite ,etc.
Towards the end of OW1 it got a little better.
But the reason I stuck around is because of everything that was promised for OW2.
And they seem to have sort of delivered so I’m not really complaining much.

Seems I’m running into you tonight eh…

My only complain with OW1 is that they stopped releasing content. I like tank heroes (shield or not) and believe that if the devs had continued their release cycle, lots of people would have stayed.

w/o matchmaking on in OW2, the matches seem too often one-sided so I can’t tell which I like better yet. It’s like almost every match is one team destroying one team with ease, to me. I want to like OW2 but for now, OW1 is better with more competitively close matches.

I find it quite strange to call OW2 a “not OW1”. let’s think for example what was OW1 in 2016 and what did it become in … 2020? more or less where the true total stasis of the game began. defender class, hero pool, the estica of numbani, the conformation of horizon, the rework of the heroes, etc …

I think one of the consequences of the long pause from reorganizing the game was to get us used to an OW that didn’t upset his equilibrium too much. especially without the introduction of new heroes, the first cause of extreme balancing of heroes that had never been modified before. however OW2 will never be OW1 because it is further changing the rules also in the contents offered (battlepass, for example).

I think anyone who says “this is not my OW” is a bit of a hypocrite, knowing that OW (like all live as service) is a game designed to accept changes over time, including the type of rhythms. different instead if you complain about the type of business that is proposed as the battlepass (but so far we know that it is aesthetic rather than functional, too soon to tell) or if the game shows a decrease in quality compared to the past. and let’s face it very honestly: OW2 being updated is paradoxically an OW that we have always wanted, but Ow1 not being updated completely is definitely NOT our Ow as it really should be. the real shameful ending of the game, in my opinion.

we can obviously say “I don’t like ow2 anymore for this and that”, it also happened in OW1 in certain periods. but an Ow who doesn’t update for too long to make its “sequel” look much better is real death.

100% THIS is exactly the case. And I’m one of those who have gotten lazy, but I am actually loving OW2 because I love a challenge. As a support main, I am being challenged greatly.

yeah OW is no longer OW. It sucks. Long Live OW1 :stuck_out_tongue:
