You’re wasting your time getting upset in this game because most of the players in Overwatch literally are bad. They think they’re are good, but most likely want to be carried and they have such big ego assumptions all will go well. Why do you think many players left this game in the first place?
Maybe or maybe not, but I can relate to OP’s story since a lot of players in this game do harass over a hero pick and puts the blame on them because they aren’t meta. It’s a kids game and you get kids responses if doing bad or not supporting them a lot.

Yes players could be nicer, but lets face reality. 9/10 players would result to being mad at the end because things aren’t going into their favor. You may get people want to play who they like, but don’t assume the results will be well even if they swap.
Sometimes it might not be the player, but the team itself. You can work as a team, but every player skill may not be equal.
