If it wasnt for Maugas release Id have a 60% win rate in masters and would of hit gm thats how good this hero actually is.
When you learn how to use his damage the niches of his kit how to use tree in multiple situations heck even just to break deployables, positioning, how to quick charge ult.
When you fully learn the hero outside of sit back and pump heals and learn EVERYTHING he can do. It really puts into perspective how “Easy” well wrong wors but still how easy this game is if you just do everything correctly even on suposed “Low value” “none carry” heros
There’s multiple situations where I casted tree wrong, I missed my shots, I pulled the wrong person (where pulling the right person would of lead to a W instead of and L/a lost team fight).
Overwatch really isn’t that complicated, well it is it really is but if you play your hero correctly and fully utilize them no matter who it is you can climb.
I think what Im trying to say is overwatch isn’t like this super impossible game where you have to directly carry every situation by getting multiple picks, sorta like how mei wall defies the rules of the game by wallijg of tanks and making a construction which you can do all sorts of things with.
Lifeweaver has plenty to actually win games in indirect ways, plenty of damage plenty of playmaking, plenty of everything so it makes zero sense his win rates in the mud.
He isn’t really designed well. Lifeweaver doesn’t have anything to move the game forward, all his utility is based around keeping people up, unlike Lucio speed, Ana nade and sleep, Bap’s damage/matrix, Brig boop for space, Kiri kitsune, Mercy dmg boost, zen discord. Only heros who don’t have something is LW and Moira, they exist only to stat pad.
Lifeweaver was incredibly bad at launch, but the reason wasn’t really numbers based, it was his design, give LW however much healing you want, all he can do is healbot at the end of the day, which is terrible for a support (at least in 5v5).
Read what I just wrote above, remeber I have a win rate at 60% well I did before mauga and multiple others like rakattack, vengeance etc have a positive win rate and actively play him, at lower ranks they should be eating.
All I’m saying is that LW, compared to some supports, is pretty terrible, at least at the high masters, low GM threshold, in the lower ranks, he’s a must pick since he can make a team unkillable, not saying he can’t really be played in higher ELO, just saying he starts to get a LOT less valuable than a lucio or kiri or ana.
You wanna know the ironic thing about that? When I looked on overbuff his win rate actually got higher (at gm) when I clicked gm its actually positive by 1.58%
I’d be more concerned that you have 56% winrate on Lifeweaver which has one of the lowest mechanical floors in the game.
If you slap a good zen/ana/kirko there lw WR will go negaitive or stay the same. Slap a mechanically bad ana on to LW and watch there winrate sky rocket.
The stuff I have to do to actually win games as lifeweaver is insane, Im talking actually wining even in comps where he may not fit, Im not talking just sitting in the back and healing otherwise just like everyone else my win rate would be negative, Using petal to stop rez, using tree, healing correctly damaging correctly, heck knowing when to switch to him and switch off using pull, the amount of soulders I’ve seen ult from low ground would make a grown man cry.
You only ever see lifeweaver in situations you can replace him with any other hero and theyd still get value which is why he looks like a “Easy” mechanically crutch hero.
The people your thinking about would switch off lifeweaver in 2.5 seconds… which is usually what they do against me.
And the ones who don’t switch when his “Easy” mechanics stop carrying them… lose, repeatedly… which is why his win rate sucks.
Im currently 4-2 on him in masters 3… they didn’t miss its just the way he was advertised and released has haunted him since the start.
And also I know this may seem bad to say but the whole pink silly “mercy like” (as they said) “Support” hero thing (ya know the girls role) isn’t helping people deviate between who he is and how he should be played and how hes presented.
Like if I wanted to convince say someone above you he’s being played completely wrong Id have to break my back through all the excsues “Explain why his damage is so low” “why he cant kill 5 a fight like Baptiste” “why his ult dosent kill everyone like kiriko” "how to get offensive value from pull.
Which pull is also a problem because outside of pulling people some people might straight up throw your game.
