So… some things I have found successful for me to go up through the ranks when it comes to avoiding players (note for the most part I am not in VC so I won’t go over those elements of it)
Whenever you lose a match:
- If you can immediately identify the player that cost you that match => avoid them.
- If you cannot immediately identify the player that cost you that match => it was you (no avoids)
- Just because someone was toxic in general on teamchat doesn’t mean they are a bad player and you may still want them on your team to win, just mute them (don’t avoid)
- Do not avoid more than 1 person on your team upon a loss, chances are you will be unlikely to identify multiple ‘bad actors’ unless they are actively throwing (sabotage jumping off the edge etc) do report them though!
- If your avoid slots are full, evict the oldest avoid in the list and then continue with the above
I found trying to avoid too many people was making me miserable, and sometimes I would lose the next match by having someone I didn’t like on the opposite team from an ‘emotional’ perspective rather than a ‘wanting-to-win’ perspective.
