Tips on Havana - offense?

So it’s a regular think that happens to me on Havana. You can’t get out of spawn because of strong firepower from the enemy team right in front of your spawn. Tonight it was Orisa, Soldier, Sym and Kiriko (Mercy, unsurprisingly, didn’t do much damage). But it’s also often Junkrat or Torb spamming, or similar things.
Any tips on how to counter that ? Any team comp that could work ? We had Ramm, Mei, Torb, Zen and Ana. Is there a “back door” to escape spawn and flank them, that I don’t know of ?
Thanks beforehand

There is a side door on the left side that has some cover. Use that and go on the flank path on the left side. You end up in the building BUT there are openings at an odd enough angles to avoid some sniper fire and push into the enemy. That being said, you will still need to push the cart so you may have to go through two teamfights just to get the cart past the spawn los

What role are you?

Because if you’re being spammed out, you either need to spam back or take a massive flank and disrupt the focus fire long enough for your team to push forward.

And don’t expect any help because it ain’t coming.

You’re all you’ve got.

Thank you both for your answers

I thought it only lead to the same place as the front left door, where the enemy team was. I’ll look more into it, thanks !

I was a support in role queue. I started with Mercy, to boost Torb, then, when it didn’t seem to be very efficient, I switched to Zen to try and help get rid of their Orisa. Nothing worked.

That would be my idea too. I’d go : one dps like Junk or Pharah or Torb on the right, to get their attention and create another angle, and a Sombra or Tracer flanking their backline.

In my experience 1st point Havana means you go widow or you lose

go healers that dont need constant los like mercy and zen then afk

This exactly the solution for your problem have timestamped it.

Bastion pharmercy tracer etc are good at it.

As support i think ana zen bap kiriko would be the answer.Dont run mercy unless there is a need like pharmercy.

Great ! Thanks so much for the link !

I’ll keep that in mind too, though in QP, people are not in VC and usually don’t read anyway when you say something

Not sure I follow you…

When you play Mercy you really are at the mercy of your team. They have to perform well and do their jobs and you either heal or buff their damage. You could always try playing other supports like Ana, Baptiste or Moira to help do a little bit more damage to the enemy team and see if that helps you push through moments like that where you feel stuck in your own spawn.

Also be wary of times where you’re trickling into the enemy 1 by 1. Its better to fight a team as a team, and if your team is trickling in it will be harder to get good results. If you think about it, a 5v1 is a terrible matchup, and even if they trade the next person will still be 4v1 against the enemy team. 5v5 is where you want to be, so if your team is going in 1 by 1 you should wait for them to regroup.

mwell im not an healer main so it’s not top advice maybe

Play brawl if they hold close. Play sig/widow if they hold far

The main problem is your team feeding, going out one at a time and usually your tank. Cause if your tank is playing poorly or just picking something like Ball your going to have a lot of trouble getting out the door.

The main thing you can do is kill the enemy. Sounds simple but unless the enemy team has a Mercy any kill you get will give your team a massive advantage as the walk back from spawn is pretty long on first point for them.

The problem I usually find is your team feeds the enemy so much by the time you manage a kill, they all have Ults and just stomp you flat anyways. Or your own team constantly swaps heros, and never builds up ult charge.

Play long range, widow, ashe, hanzo, etc

It’s better to go through the right side, there’s more cover and it’s safer to get to hg

There are 2 side doors.
There are 2 sideways.

Ramm is a poor pick against spammers imo as his shield is rather little and doesn’t last very long. You might want a tank that buy some more time or flanking : Dva Matrix, Rein shield, Sigma blackhole, Queen Shout.
Mei can buy time with wall.
Torb is a poor pick against Junkrat spamming. Against spamming, the offense asks to move forward imo so snipers and Torb aren’t the best heroes. You need to disturb defenders, not letting them to sit comfortably to spam.

You might want flanking this kind of defense as they focus all their power at one point ; so Pharah, Genji, Tracer, sombra.

About supports ; Ana is a good one as she can support from long range but she has to pay attention to stay hidden from grenades and turret.

Only if your really good, and hopefully have a decent team. Cause defense has all the advantages of already being set up, having the high ground etc. Simply put if all things are equal the defense widow generally has the advantage over the attacking widow.

It is by far one of the better options, but unless you get some cover from your tank, or the enemies just ignore you for your team it can be hard to even set up before you die.

Hanamura and Paris had/has the same issue. It seems that some maps are more designed for comp/mic use.

There is no good route to flank either. People here have recommended to go on the right side. Problem is that if they got Junkrat the room is a death trap, if he enters the room and die he drop bombs so… Left room have no good exit to surprise from.

So I can only agree that speed is best defense…

Thanks for all the comments

I could have switched to one of them, yes. I don’t like Moira, overall, but I could have gone Ana or Bap. Only thing is, the doors (esp the front one, but the right one too) were so spammed with fire that it didn’t seem that much of a good idea to try and poke. But maybe I was just too chichen

100% agree. In this case, since we were in spawn, it wasn’t that much of an issue. But you’re right, in a lot of games, I see people running back one by one, and it’s usually useless.

Agreed  They had a Mercy though ^^

Spot on !

Again, thanks to all ! I’ll keep that in mind for next time ^^

Sniper will make short work of these. Havana is sniper town.
