I mostly play hit scan heroes that require aim like widowmaker, mccree, ana.
But when I try to aim at my target (directly, i dont like to flick mostly) my aim is unstable and as soon as I shot I always overflick because of my shaky hand. I would really like to have a more steady hand but I dont know how.
EDIT: My sens is DPI 800, 5 Sens and 35 scoped
Its not my sens its just my hand likes to shake sometimes
I believe in a situation like that this is where lowering the sensitivity and upping the use of arm movements over say doing a full 360 in 3 inches of pad space can help out.
Shaky hand means you require a lower sens, something around the 800 dpi and 5 in game is near universal for most players to comfortably aim, also if you have any form of mouse acceleration you will want that turned off, as that hinders you building muscle memory.
The next tip is seat position, get comfortable, but somewhat close to your desk, and another way to control shaky hands if it’s still a problem at lower sens, put your forearm halfway onto the desk to keep a steady balance.
Those are about all the things I can think of off the top of my head.
Ok, don’t take this the wrong way, but if you do not know what causes the shaking yet, I definitly advice you to consult a doctor.
It doesn’t need to be as serious as parkinson, could just be a tremor, which are usually not dangerous nor do they usually hinder your life/ annoy you too much.
Tremors do have medication available which will essentially stop them for a duration of time(but can’t be permanently fixed afaik)
and afaik they do not usually become too much worse and are not dangerous.
Either way, if it is parkinson the sooner you know this, the sooner you can start to prevent the damage from becoming too severe/slow the process down as much as possible, for as long as possible.
It can’t be stopped but chances for a good, lengthy quality of life exponentially grows the sooner you start taking preventive medication/there are some experimental surgeries/implants available.
P.s., if I was completely wrong about this and he does just have way too high sensitivity, I’ll just leave this here to help absolutely anyone else.
Oh hell yeah, It can be used as a short term improvement for very low skilled players while they learn, but it only gets you so far and then you plateau hardcore.
It’s eons better to learn with acceleration turned right off.
It’s normal for widow, you just adjust your scoped sens, and you keep that base sens for non scoped close range smg battles. I like to keep a flat sensitivity value across ALL heroes so I don’t have to re adjust constantly and can aim without thinking about it comfortably c:
I use 800dpi 5 in game and 30 scoped, so it’s probably higher than what you’re used to, but I need the drag otherwise mobile heroes like tracer irk me to death since I can’t flick a 180 on her easily. It’s probably good, but too much effort, and not enough mousepad/desk xD
