I’m silver and have found myself enjoying Ashe, I’ve won a few deathmatch lobbies with her but can’t seem to click heads. Anybody got any tips for headshots?
Before every match, warm up your “Aim” on training-mode for 5 minutes. Not only this will help you to reduce the stress “Between” matches" but you will be able to practice “Aiming”.
About the time you need, 3k hours to be average, 6k hours to be good and 9k to be at Grand-Master levels.
Damn my most played game of all time is only 2k hours
If there is a little confusion
In overwatch-one, many people reached Grand-Master in 250 hours and said, wow he’s a prodigy the guy has a full time job, family and look is a grand master.
When you asked the guy before OW-1 what other titles you played, he told you oh well, he played quake, unreal tornament, Call of duty since ps3, gears of war, halo I’ve been playing FPS for like 10 years.
Many people had 2k hours in ow they were still gold vs a guy in 250 hours was a master, it’s because this guy already has “Many” hours in FPS and own entire pantheons of frags for many different games
Does anyone else find that Ashe feels really weird to land headshots with for some reason, compared to other heroes.
She feels like a hybrid of Cassidy and Widow to me
- Put your mouse over the head of the enemy gamer.
- Click.
- You have mastered hitscan.
To get better you pick soj. Her headshot hit markers are the size of football fields. Miss your bullets, dont worry. Her beam will clap anyones cheeks if your cross hair is half your screen away, enjoy these #protips
Lmao I wish people stood still enough for that
The basic guide still applies. You just have to hit the moving head.
Getting 8 hours of sleep.
Her hitscan projectile for charged railgun shots is smaller than Ashe’s, actually.
Seriously though, learn head height levels and by distance. If people like to side strafe back and forth, shoot down the middle.
A trick I learned in old Counter-Strike, let them walk into the crosshair.
Get your sense down, its always better for any kind of aim. Stop doing unnecessary mouse movements when you aim (we do a lot we just dont realize). Pratice, as much as you can. That’s it
Would you recommend external programs like aimlabs for practice?
It depends which heroes you want to learn. If you play hitscan then sure, go ahead, as long as you use the same equivalent sense in aim lab and ow2. If on the other hand you’re learning projectile kind of heroes, you can only learn them by training with them since each have their own bullet timing to learn
I don’t know, but these numbers seem a bit far-fetched.
I have about 250 hours on Widow and overall 600 hours in Overwatch and I’m still pretty good. according to overbuff in the top 15% (which is still a huge leap to the top) and never played FPS before.
when I had about 100h as a widow, I was matched against a widow who was new to Overwatch but apparently was a very good CSGO player. although I was mechanically inferior, I still won the widow duel in the match through positioning and gamesanse. Even with Widow, aim isn’t everything.
to OP:
what I can give you:
warm up and exercise.
Find a suitable setup and settings. Don’t change them all the time either. Once you find a good edpi (which can take time), stick with that one.
Don’t expect an improvement too quickly. The most important thing is to build and maintain good muscle memory.
your mood and health also have an influence on it.
For my part, I only need a few days if I haven’t played for a week to get back to my level. even if i drank too little it worsens my aim. Also stress etc. can negatively affect your aim.
From experience I can tell making your own personalized crosshair helps, try customizing it.
Nicely explained and broken-down! I enjoyed reading that!
Ashe is very tricky for HS, she has ADS and normal sights. With normal sights you have enough spread so you cant “spam” M1 and get them, unless they are really close range.
She doesnt have a penalty for quick scopes so learn that timing, that is going to give you SO MUCH leeway and survival you dont even know.
While ADS you move slower so if you strafe, quick scope, pump 2 shots and then move back, you are really hard to hit. Also check your ADS sensitivity while zoomed for her. Some people like 51%, some others around 60%, its your preference.
Usual combo is quick scope, 1 HS, remove scope, 2 regular shots. That executed superfast will grant you kills stupidly easy.
