Tips for a returning player?

I haven’t played Overwatch for a long time. I played a little during whenever they did that Cyberpunk themed event thing, and then most of my time playing was during OW1. The game is very different to what i’m used to now. QP has become a cesspool of toxicity arguably worse than bronze level comp where I am. 5v5 is very different where tank seems a much less desirable role to play due to the pressure of being the teams anchor. I am trying to get back into the game so I can play with a friend but trying to re-learn the game and a lot of characters has been ending up with me getting flamed over being bad, even when I explain that I haven’t played the character much.

Dont? Best advice i can give

That is very fair lmao. To be honest me and my friend are just playing till whenever Marvel Rivals releases

I think paladins is closer to rivals than ow

I am the same but the war within. I hate the game with a passion but i am low on games to play and it passes the time. I prob play 2-3 games every couple days. More if Iam having fun…

If you warm up by playing mystery heroes, no one can flame you for bad hero picks or doing badly on a character.
Also helps re-learn the basics of all heroes in the long run and the new maps, people are less vocal about their toxicity there in general in my experience. But don’t expect much coherency.

Or you can stay in role queue and put up with what you’ve experienced so far.

The amount of throwers, non switching dps practice dudes and dps healers have increased. If you are going to lose due to those it’s just QP chill mentallity, just pick torb and hammer people around for fun and if you get flamed just mute them instantly. Don’t even talk smack back like it’s a diss track so they will unistall the game because you will get reported and banned.

This would be my advice. Or play Open Queue. Its a more causal mode due to the flexibility of choosing characters.
