Tiny tiny mercy buff?

when mercy activates valk, there’s a small amount of time when her beam, if connected to anyone, disconnects and you have to reconnect it again. i think it would be a good idea if that disconnection never happened?

sort of like WAY back when she had 5-man res and it didn’t disconnect when she ressed? i think that was changed so that there was a disconnect? was there a reason for that?

i just feel like sometimes this could make or break if someone dies or not (and then you might have to go for a risky res, etc.)

We’ve been asking for this for years.

:man_shrugging:

In the time since I last posted about this, I’ve dropped Mercy, become a flex support, dropped flex support, learned to aim, and became a hitscan player.

It’s been a while, and someone posts this suggestion every once in a while.

It might be diffucult to code it properly.

So instead, how about all teammates get healing equivalent to pre-valk mercy, during her transform.

yikes, that is rough

It’s an ultimate animation, chill

shave off like 2~3s off duration, make valk instantly burst heal 100~150hp in like a 15~20m radius (like the very 1st thing even before animation of transformation).

would already immediately make valk a better ult in terms of self agency for value.

Nah mercy deserves no buffs imo.

She’s already easy to play, let’s not make it easier.

This isn’t even a buff this is just a quality of life change. I never understood why her beam disconects to begin with.

It’s so weird, like a good player can recognise that big damage is incoming and will have to not ult so their tank doesn’t die??

So weird.

because her healing goes from 55 to 60 and they can’t code it while it stays connected apparently.
This actually can also help Pre-Valk as long as you stay on heals and not change your healing target you stay on 60hps instead of 55.

It’s not a QOL change, it’s a buff. The beam disconnects because of her ult animation, it is intended and doesn’t need to be changed.

Then that Ana “Quality of life change” to nade was a huge buff then? Because that is way more impactful than her beam staying connected.

Which one are you talking about I don’t keep up with every patch

When they made her nade go through full hp allies. That made so that her nade wouldn’t get stuck on someone who is 199/200 hp and completely block your play of anti the entire enemy team. People even got mad saying they were buffing Ana while disguising the buff as a “Quality of life change”.
Look man the only thing this would do is make it less awkward when popping Valkyrie, because most of the times the ally would die when we were stuck in the valk animation. The only reason as to why they didn’t do this already is because they technically cannot make the heals from the beam go from 55hps to 60hps without disconnecting and reconnecting the beam. The only reason they haven’t implemented this is because of technical issues.

One player found out, that you can keep 60 heal/s even after valkyrie ends, if you never disconnect the healing staff. But you know it’s kind of useless as you can only heal that person and can’t switch targets/damage boost

I’d argue that’s a buff. But the difference between the two is that the devs probably intended for Ana’s nade to be able to do this ever since they made her primary fire go through full HP teammates. But Mercy’s beam disconnect is there because she is casting her ult, she shouldn’t be able to instantly go from her normal healing to her increased valk healing, it means you have to time it right so that the small second your beam is disconnected your team doesn’t die to burst damage.

Mercy’s kit is already good she doesn’t need anything else. You make it sound like it has a 3 second cast time or something. It’s not even over a second long and again, your allies will die if you time it wrong is it that much to ask for you to simply learn when to cast it?

I really don’t think that’s why, I mean it doesn’t sound like a complicated thing to do and I doubt Blizzard can’t figure it out.

Exactly. They can’t change the ammount of hps the beam does without disconnecting and reconnecting the beam again. And until they find the technical solution for this, quality of life changes like this are impossible.

They haven’t still. And until they do things like this are impossible.
