Tiny hog suggestion?

looking at lifeguard roadhog, it’s actually surprising that he doesn’t have a teammate saving ability like lifeweaver has

like hook an enemy or hook an ally, probably 2 diff cooldowns
like an actual tank saving option for 1 dps like zarya has
all he is, is a body…

ofc being pulled around by LW and hog would be annoying lol
just remove it from LW’s kit lol and put something better in place of life pull

the plays you could make pulling like your ulting reaper to you and stuff would be awesome
and hog has way more HP so he can pull off those cheeky plays more than LW can
using ally hook both aggressively and defensively

Hog is meant to be the aggressive, self-reliant tank and his character is meant to be evil. Giving him an option to help teammates wouldnt make sense. Lifeweaver is a support and the help everyone, peace and love and nature guy, removing his ability to save people and giving it to hog makes less sense.

What if pulling ulting allies to enemies is evil? Lore is a silly balance point.
Maybe he is pulling teammates behind him so that he can flaunt about how he will do a better job and take the frontline? You can make up any reason, but it fits better in a 5v5 format. In 6v6 it was easier for him to side flank and be purely evil or greedy. He’s literally just a solo body in this game.

Lore is a central balance point. The devs have a specific idea with every character they create. Literally called a their hero fantasy. There’s a reason why Mauga doesn’t have team saving abilites either or why Ana is a support with a slow damaging sniper and mercy doesn’t usually do direct damage.
So a solo body is genuinely his design, he’s not a teamwork character ingame, he even hates junkrat out of the game lol. Idm for a fun mode but in the main game it wouldn’t really flow.

From a technical POV, choosing who hook targets would be a nightmare to code and is going to cause a mountain of bugs. It’s why I dont think there are any single target multi-team abilities, just aoe ones.

Interesting suggestion, but I never want to be aiming for an enemy and Hook an ally in my crosshairs by mistake. Imagine trying to Hook a McCAss out of ult but a Tracer trying to Blink by you to safety gets you both killed. :skull:

Or why Reaper is a tactical genius with so many options… Wait a second.

Well they would be seperated somehow. Like a toggle for targets when a cooldown is pressed.
Like Mei wall without deploying it, but you would see your allies like brig does for heal packs.
Not that buggy or overcomplicated. It would just clip through enemies I guess if the friendly hook were used.

Sometimes you need to Hook very quickly, what advantage do you see to adding more of a delay between you and your victim, on Hog?

Just don’t then. Don’t press the other hotkey when you want to keep lethality up.
It’s just a tool in his kit.
It’s the same way you don’t keep wall up when you know you want to headshot a tracer on Mei. Just don’t play with the ally hook more than the default hook.

Next question, what button do you put it on? Hog already has Hook, Pigpen, and Breather, where would you put this next ability?

My setup is:
Left - Primary
Right - Pigpen
E - Hook
Shift - Breather

I have no idea, maybe remove the pigpen and add a slow “pierced” effect to hooked enemy targets
pigpen was not necessary for the game

With a tiny Ball in DPS slot.
