I understand why stadium needs to be comp. Also, there are toxic people in even the QP matches. I dont mute my chat, because i want to defend people being bullied. But that is an option.

I really don’t get why they made it comp only. Been nothing but problems, could fix it by leaving comp behind.

Well, when you offer limited time prizes and herd pit-bulls and corgi’s into the same pen, yeah you are gonna get a few maulings.
I’d have no shot playing heroes I’m not good with now. My games are nothing but Diamonds-GM. I’m taking a break in hopes they rank up out of my games.
Only reasons i can see why they made it comp are:
- They clearly want the mode to have this extremely arena-esque/tournament feeling.
From the announcer, to the ui, mvp’s, shouting out individual hero actions like its a live match being casted, to the entire ranking system. Its clear they want this to be a very ‘best of the best’ mode where its entire drive is to climb up the pyramid and be the best player both on your team but in the overall mode. It literally feels like you are playing in a pro tournament being live casted by someone who is narrating the match. Everything about the mode is promoting and showcasing individual player actions and impact which leans much more into a competitive mode where that is people’s overall goal
- Considering stadium’s much longer game time and higher commitment requirement, they didn’t want stadium to be very easy to leave mid match.
They didnt want people to be backfilling into a stadium games half way through and being massively behind. They didnt want stadium games to just become a mode where people leave with little punishment and every match is just a mess like quickplay matches can easily become, but unlike qp matches being 10 mins max a stadium match can easily be 30 mins. Leavers are already heavily ruining the mode, imagine if the mode wasn’t competitive ruleset and had even less penalties for leaving. The mode would literally be entirely unplayable
I think whatever they do it will not go down well. People dont like it being a competitive mode but If they change it from a ‘competitive’ mode the entire mode kind of just falls apart.
It doesnt make sense to have all these ranks and rewards in a mode that isnt competitive driven. And making it a non-competitive mode will undoubtedly create massive leaver and match quality issues more than already exist.
If they make a casual version it just splits the playerbase even further. And When does the buck stop? Do we then get a 6v6 stadium? People are already asking for it. Do they then add an Open queue stadium?

The people leaving part for sure. But there are days where, every stadium game im in has someone leave. So it didnt stop that. But i can understand that one.

Hopefully its just cus its early days there are so many leavers. Its literally been 1 week.
There are a lot of people trying it for the first time, ppl who dont care if they get suspended cus they have no intention in coming back to play. I doubt anyone has left enough yet to get a season ban but gradually those people will hit that wall and the only people left playing will be the genuine players
Eventually (hopefully) a lot of these people who are leaving will either be banned and cant queue anymore or have moved on to something else cus stadium was just a reason for them to come back and try the game.
Once all those people have left or been banned the amount of leavers will likely dissipate to a normal level

I like the tournement-like vibe. I just wish people realized stadium comp requires a different attitude than conventional comp. Stadium, by design, should feel like a wacky party game, yet people act like they’re sponsors are watching IRL, or they’re one victory away from getting a scholarship to a pro MLG gaming school.

They probably made Stadium comp-only as a big one-finger salute to chronic leavers. That, or they wanted pad comp’s user numbers with a shiny new carrot.
They made it comp because they want 15 minute quitter bans which is reasonable. But they also want it casual which is why it’s just a ladder and not really a competitive mode.
However they still labeled it as competitive so anyone who doesn’t actually look into what it really is thinks it’s actually competitive and sweats and acts like a jerk. That and no cross play which is a huge oversight.
It can stay as a ranked ladder with rewards but they need to make it very clear to people how different that is from a competitive rank system. Also they need to add cross play.

and this is so tedious and dull that I will not play it ever again…like NEVER and I NEVER play comp in general…
They are but that news is already creating divisions in the community due the ppl just wanting to play with their friends are clashing with pc purists who think having console players will ruin their games
Both arguments are fair viewpoints. Even the devs do not know what to do. Either choice they will annoy a lot of ppl

this is the norm in competitive games fam. You cannot cater to all needs and this is why I advocate for banning these kinds of modes
As a PC player I vote to annoy the anti fun overly competitive PC purists who already have an actual comp mode to play if that’s all they care about though lol. I really don’t want them adding a second “QP” mode that will just mess up queue times that are already too long.

Honestly, it’s the least competitive comp mode anyway. Mystery Heroes was more competitive. I think people should just play it like it’s QP because it’s really not a serious mode and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

just think of it as an arcade mode that gives comp points X)
the rank is irrevlant
You can’t play coop crossplay with friends as its comp only.
