Thoughts on Torbjorn Rivet Gun?

I believe the primary long range fire is fine but the shotgun, in my opinion, is inconsistent

When the Torbjorn buff/rework goes into the PTR, I hope they buff some attribute to the Rivet Gun

Thoughts?

RIvet gun is fine. You could argue that it’s low key OP.

You have more experience than me, can’t argue with that

I just have a hard time killing enemies, even ones with big hitboxes like Reaper and Doomfist, with my Shotgun

Have any tips you can share about his gun?

I think the perceived inconsistency comes from the fact that it has a shotgun spread. Other heroes like Roadhog, Reaper, and Doomfist experience something similar. I don’t really use RMB unless the target is really close. It’s about conserving ammo more than anything else though.

I have a very hard time hitting people with his shoutgun. Even when I aim right at them, there’s no guarantee to hit; by the time the gun finally decides to go off, they’ve gotten out of the way, and then I have to step away from the computer, get in my car, go downtown to the courthouse, spend 40-45 minutes filling out the proper paperwork, drive back, sit back at my computer, and then - AND ONLY THEN- can I fire again.

The rivet gun seems to be just a small thing here. What’s also important is that the turret is just waay to easy to destroy.

It doesn’t have a lot of hp, does no dmg except if lvl 2-3, needs 5 hits to be upgraded (Meaning you have to STAND STLL) and it has a tracking laser.

It nothing more than a warning now. Maybe Blizzy needs to do something about that. Just saying

Sometimes I wish the primary fire was a tiny bit faster.

I normally go out of my way to use the secondary fire. I don’t have much problems with it as long as I’m real close to someone. I mean- it’s a shotgun after all. You can’t expect to do damage with a shotgun if you aren’t all up in someone’s face.

It’s kinda funny. I make tanks upset when I play Torbjorn. I’m pretty aggressive. :stuck_out_tongue:

Torb’s gun is very close to the reticle compared to others which makes it a little tougher to aim at close ranges. It is a downright monster in the right hands despite the long reload time. I’m thinking of getting it gold.

Golden Magni Torbjorn’s weapon is beautiful, wishing his turret was gold as well

I have no problem with his gun itself, but the reload time should be lowered from 2 seconds to 1.25 seconds.

DO IT!!! Torb’s gold gun is great because so much of it becomes gold. The gold hammer makes it all the better.

Tracer destroys a Level 2 turret very easily, even though Torb counters her in some ways. If 50 HP of the turret was changed to armor, I feel that Torb would be a much needed hard counter to Tracer.

I definitely think that tightening the spread of the shotgun would neededly increase its consistency. :slight_smile:

I like the idea, but i had another idea. Something straight outta my 2nd favorite game.

A new weapon that will heal a building from a distance. It could be on a cooldown, a sepparate weapon with new stats (Such as having a hp metal bar or something and then using that metal for healing) or a completely different idea.

Then torb puts himself in less danger while still being able to maintain his Bad not so good turret.

I could see this being a good ability it it was on cooldown. If it used scrap I’d probably just rather build a new turret, since I like to give my team as much armor as possible (even though they rarely appreciate it).

If it was, then it would still be underpowered, because it would be one shot and then a cooldown. In that time they could already destroy the turret, leaving you with nothing

i agree. right click is a more consistent burst damage dealer than reaper’s hellfire shotguns.

I actually prefer the shotgun when playing torb. I hate the arch on his primary fire.

look at my comp time this season my co-engineers! a long way to go for golden rivet gun and hammer but i know hard verk pays off!
