I really wanna know what the forum community thinks of reinhardt.
Do you think he is a balanced hero?
Do you think he is fun to play with?

My personal thoughts
yes and no. In a way he fully relies on current conditions of the game. and relies solely on good teams.
Yes I like playing with a good rein. they can help the team by their smarts and genuinely can carry
I mean yes. fighting rein as rein is dope. who has the bigger hammer and I think he is ult charge for me when i am dps (mostly because most people suck on him xD)

NOOO. as fun as he is, he gets domolished by any hint of cc like he is legit unplayable due to that. new tanks shouldnt be like him as good as he is.
No. Most Reinhardts in my rank are too friggin’ cowardly to push. Whenever I’ve seen or (personally) Nano-Boosted a Reinhardt, they’ll literally just keep their shield up.
Sometimes. Anything that gets behind his cowardly rectangle is a guaranteed kill.
If I’m carrying as him yet my team doesn’t contribute, then no. Otherwise, yes.
Rein’s kit is balanced, but Shatter needs more counters. When he’s dominating the meta, like he was recently, the game is so boring, because you have to mirror him or lose every single fight where he has ult.
100% balanced. Yes (I say this as a GLORIOUS Rein player)
That depends if people are picking heroes that best enable/synergize with him.
This isn’t his meta, so I love playing against him because it usually means I’m going to win.
On his niche maps. YES! But like I said above, this isn’t his time to shine; this isn’t his meta, so I’m not playing him as much right now. AND THAT IS OKAY! Orisa needs her time in the sun.
The need to add a mobile shield tank that has NO synergistic properties with Reinhardt.
Awesome balanced hero. The only issue I have is that Reinhardt and Brig will always be tethered together when their meta cycle hits. I don’t really like this, I wish Reinhardt didn’t require so many specific heroes to get his full value out of him.
He can be if you know what you’re doing and playing with a very supportive team on one of the maps he’s good on.
Kinda. There’s a lot right about Reinhardt, but heroes shouldn’t be so dependent on things outside of the player’s control, this is a game, not a slot machine.
We could definitely use more melee heroes, tanks, Crusaders, etc though; although if we’re talking about new tank additions that would be like Reinhardt; that might be a hard no. What we need is tanks that can fight the likes of Mei, Reaper, Bastion, etc; not more tanks that are super easy to bully and shutdown.
Rein is super fun, and feels chronically outgunned. I don’t feel ALLOWED to play Rein if I want to win, and if I don’t win, it’s Toxic Town so no fun anyway.
1- Yes
2- If he’s good, yeah. Same as most heroes (a few exceptions)
3- He’s fine. I don’t consider him unfun to play against
4- Provided the team plays with me, then yes. If they don’t, then he’s miserable
5- Probably not another big rectangle barrier dude, but more anchor tanks that can relocate at will would be nice, yes
In a way, Reinahardt shield is the best counter since its always better to use regular abilities on reaction than with an ultimate. There are a variety of ways to recover from it yes, but most reactionary revolve around ultimate usage which makes it a case of like Zenyatta vs Genji. Who can get ultimate up first?
At least I cannot really name another character really that can on reaction block shatter without rein shield or ultimate that would generally be run without a reinhardt anyway.

Meh. It really depends. If you have against a good Rein, it will show. If you’re facing a bad Rein, it can be fun/no fun depending on your outlook of challenge.
God no. Its like playing pinball simulator, and you’re the pinball playing him.
If they do, I’d pull my teeth out before playing a hero like Rein again
It makes me sad because I’m a Rein main, but you can only take so many bullets to the face/shield before you crack a little.
Yes. However unlike the community, who screams for nerfs or buffs to their favorite heroes all the time, I think most heroes are actually very well balanced, with only a few needing minor tweaks.
Depends on the player. If they’re not a brain dead Rein, then yes. If they’re charging in head first with out a care in a world, and just feeding then god no. As was said in MMOs, you can’t heal stupid.
Generally yes. Again the feeders make it less so, as their team just falls apart, and it’s not really a GG. However I’ve seen some crazy Reins too, who might as well have carried those games by themselves, and those are really fun to go up against.
Me personally no. God no. I don’t know how people play him. The amount of patience it takes to deal with all of the crowd control is insane, and that’s not even the worst part. Your team actually has to be able to capitalize on the space you make for them, and to often brain dead dps, do nothing when a good Rein gives them all the tools needed to win. I would flip my $hit, playing him for more than a game or two. Props to all the Rein players out there, my hats off to you.
Orisa is already similar in some ways, and then we have Brigg, who’s essentially a mini Rein. Honestly I really don’t want another shield to worry about. Sure something like a Rein, Zarya might be considered better than a Rein / Orisa combo, but I feel the latter also comes with it’s own issues and challenges when played well, and I really don’t want to add to that. Maybe depending on how 2-2-2 changes the meta I might be up for it. For right now, I’m fine on shield tanks as they are.
Eh, although he is slow, and has a huge hit box, he has one of the strongest ults in the game AND amazing follow up damage for it. Not to mention, shatter is only efficiently countered by mirror matching, which is unhealthy imo
Yeah, I enjoy having a Rein as a support, he’s an easy hit box
Yes/No, he’s not angering but again, his shatter is beyond annoying. Plus his charge hit box is STILL so wonky
I find him a bit boring tbh, I like more mobile heroes.
Eh, the meta is becoming more bunker but when that meta is gone, I’d like it to not default back to Rein/Zarya
Do you think he is a balanced hero? - Used to be, now he needs some sort of stun/boop resistance, poor dude cant do a dang thing in game anymore.
Do you think he is fun to play with? - YES!! I love having reinhardt on my team if I’m not him myself and I back him up best I can.
Do you think he is fun to play against? - Absolutely!! Rein vs Rein is a great battle because not only are you direct counter to eachother with everything you have but it’s also a battle of “best support” to see who has the bigger Reinhardt in the end. Even if it’s not a mirror match if he kills me I dont blame it on being overpowered or anything I count it as bad positioning by myself because I trap myself with no way out.
Do you think he is fun to play as? - At the moment no. 900 damage per second bastions with baptiste ult or whole teams with orisa’s are murdering him. Not to mention it’s almost impossible to close any distance now with all the knock backs and boops. It’s a god damn nightmare playing him right now and it shows in his pickrates, I think last I saw they were down some 20-30%
Do you think blizzard should add similar hero - They kinda tried that with brigitte and failed. We do need more main tanks but really melee is almost impossible to use now cause the changes to boops. Your either gonna get baited to an edge and knocked off by someone behind you, or just straight pushed back while trying to do anysort of melee combat.
My thoughts - He needs stun/knockback resistance. You would think he’d be the guy knocking people around but instead he’s getting used like a human basketball now. At the very least let him not be Boopable when he’s charging or let him stay on the ground when you boop him out of the way, not 10 meters in the air and no way to exit charge.
Frankly playing reinhardt right now SUCKS and I’d highly advise anyone not to play him at all at the moment.
Let’s pretend that there are two types of Reinhardts- the one that is borderline suicidal yet never actually dies, and literally everything else.
The former is yes for all, and the latter is no for all. Even for 3, roflstomping noobs gets old.
The problem is that the difference between the two is so team dependent you never properly see it in full glory outside OWL or stacks with a Rein/Zarya instalock.
