So now that is has been a week that she has been live for (Although she was just banned), I think people have gathered their thoughts and have their opinions
So, what is your opinion on:
Lore
Gameplay (Balance and fun wise) What could make her better/balanced
Her being in comp as soon as she was released
Skins/emotes ect
I think she is a bit overtuned, and I dislike the extra life with ult thing. I also think you shouldn’t be able to stop the beam thing. And her skins are nice

I still can’t see a reason to play any other dps, other than the other dps took her first
(Also, her skins are nice and I didn’t care about her being in comp already)
Lore is fine, Overwatch lore is overall very lacking so anything helps. It’s good to know Liao is dead.
Gameplay… I agree, she’s overpowered. I think her base kit needs a few small nerfs but nothing wild. Her ultimate needs bigger nerfs. I would personally bump the Stickies from one per 0.065 seconds to one per 0.1 seconds; Focus Beam low-health threshold down from 50% to 40%; and then her ult, I would either cause her to just die if she dies while using it, or cap her at one enemy ult and tone down the ult gain while duplicated. Overall, she’s fairly fun to use, albeit a lot of that is because she is so strong. I still remain firmly of the view that they should not have released a DPS for Hero 32, though, and I also disagree with the developer’s assessment that Duplicate wouldn’t have worked for a Support or Tank.
Her being in Comp immediately was just a bad decision. Sigma got away with it because of RoleQ and the whole RoleQ beta season not really counting. Echo shouldn’t have been immediately available in comp.
And her skins/emotes are fine. Nothing groundbreaking there. Her highlight intros are a bit generic IMO.

Can’t say how strong she really is until she goes against her biggest counters (widowmaker and McCree) That’s why I’m annoyed that they banned her this week.
I think she is balanced, but people havent gotten used to playing against her, even more with the moronic thing of banning her in the same week Mcree and Widow were made available
I have to say I am a bit conflicted… I think she looks cool but her lore is pretty “Bog standard”. Also hits roughly the same note as Orisa imo. Robot created to “Save humanity” and all that. I also don’t think she herself has very much personality at least in any the voice lines we have so far.
Game play wise I find she’s a bit strong, over whelming OP if supported properly. Her only real weakness is she tends to take a lot of dmg and can be hard to heal for some support due to her flying around. Her ultimate is hands down broken, fully heals and cleanses her, can’t be interrupted or stopped and lets her gain the abilities and ultimate of her enemies. The fact she can get 2 and some times 3 uses of that enemy ultimate with no risk of death only makes it a bigger joke.
As far as skins I think their all pretty much garbage, but thats pretty standard. Nothing out side of event loot boxes ever looks good on 99% the hero’s. I will say in closing I was very disappointed that Blizzard seemed to just make another grab bag hero. Full of other hero’s abilities, but better. They did it with Sigma, and to a lesser degree with Orisa.
It not only lowers the values of those hero’s but makes it seem very lazy. It is also telling how poorly balanced Echo is considering they had something like 9+ months to make her. 3 times as long as any previous hero and this is what we got, straight to Comp.
Her design is contrary to her lore. She’s supposed to be the bridge between humanity and omnics, but she’s filled with combat abilities. Including the magic murder beam, which is specifically designed to kill the weak and the sick.
Gameplay wise, she’s heavily overturned and needs some scaling back. There’s also some nasty bugs to deal with, like locking your opponent’s character while duplicating them.
Comp release? No surprise here. They said immediate release was standard practice now.
Skins. A few of the recolors are rather garish, but the epics and legendaries look good.
I don’t like her M1, it’s like Sigma and it’s just not my jam.
In game? It’s great! with her and Pharah in the sky and getting widow banned…
The ult think is a bit nutty and maybe the ease of flying needs to be toned down.
Echo lorewise is connected to Mina Liao, who was known for years as one of the founders of Overwatch. And then the only thing we actually learn from that is that she died, leaving Echo behind. Idk, it is like a bait and switch for me for Liao’s part.
As for gameplay, there is a learning curve for her to be effective. Her abilities are powerfull, but she herself is veeery squishy. And her damage can be mitigated by severe heroes. Her mobility is nice, but not super fast. It is like Doomfist in that way. Yeah she can kill fast, but she dies fast as well. For now, I think she is balanced. People complain about her Ult, but so what, is an ULT. It NEEDS to be impact-full. It is not like “press Q, you win” even, there is a lot of timing and positioning involved to be effective. Screwing up that ult can be done very quickly.
Her skins are ok. I like the Legendaries, but the Epics are a bit too standard. I’ve seen worse Legendaries. Her base design is nice as it is even, with the sleek EVE look. I do wish she had the exact same look as the early concept art. The two Legendaries that have that design do not have the same color scheme, which is a bit of a shame.
I imagine she could have a Harpy skin (all feathery and black) in the future. Or maybe a fairy skin (like Tinkerbell). There are plenty of possibilities.
I’m still trying to figure out how this robot has so much more personality than Pharah.
