Sooo I played a handful of games, played with and against her every time (nbd).
My thoughts as an average low diamond player:
Her damage is insane. Mercs Winston’s health in one second. Why does she need to do more damage to a low health enemy? Watching my death cams is just upsetting. Echo is being rewarded with such high damage for little to no interaction.
Should only be able to take DPS ultimates (Not my idea, was a guy named OFFTANKSUPP). I got shattered twice and there is absolutely no counter-play to versing three tanks and typically a Reinhardt.
Why was she not in this current hero ban rotation? Give more time for adjustment…
Health pool is fine. Surprised she doesn’t have a shield similar to zen. She could fly up, take a few hits, get a health pack/regen and good to go. Would be nice.
Why do we need more beams? Why do we need another DPS?
Game is on a tipping point already so why release something this risky?
Either way, good job Blizzard (Not being sarcastic)
her ultimate lets her reset her health twice, with absolutely no way to cancel those… once she goes into ult, she gets her health and cooldowns reset, and when she dies or the duration ends, she once again gets those resets.
while in her ult, not only can she ult as a dublicate of a hero on her own team, she can ult multiple times… i have seen echo tracers being able to throw three or four bombs… as echo rein, hitting 4 people with your hammer grants you your ultimate.
she should get limited healing when she becomes a dublicate, should die if her dublicate dies, and should be limited to one dublicated ult~
and, she shouldnt have been released to comp like this~
The Focus Beam is absurdly powerful, I mean you are rewarded for picking on low health targets on top of an insane multifaceted ultimate that can repeat and keep you from dying… and you literally get a Death Ray on top? Even at full charge neither Zarya nor Sym can touch this Death Ray at 200 DPS… which she can use flying.
I rather like the idea she can only use DPS ultimates, but she appears to be a developer wet dream in action so she gets them all. Imagine instead had she been a support… and could have had this flexibility… who knows, some DPS might have opted finally to try Support at least for her.
She shouldn’t be in Comp first week, that was stupid for everyone.
Personally no issue with beams, tracking damage is a fair mechanic that requires you to get in close at least. We certainly didn’t need another DPS but that is water under the bridge now.
she feels very strong and mobile. above all i think its very problematic that she is a tank buster. tank busters are terrible for the game and should really not exist since they added role lock.
a bit of leftclick then rightclick followed by beam melts a 500 hp tank in like 3 seconds without even landing headshots. its pretty easy to land the shots on big targets and the damage is very high in relation to the ease of landing it.
i do like the idea behind the beam rewarding close range combat, and i like the fact that it is somewhat situational cause its really only useful towards targets with half health. but half health for a tank is still pretty high and its so easy to land the entire beam on a tank.
when playing tank against echo it feels like you are screwed the moment you reach ~300 hp. either you stay over 300 hp at all times or you will die in 1 second from the sticky+beam.
