I feel like genji has been weak lately because of doomfist,Moira, and so far Brigitte countering him. Doomfist because of genji not being able to deflect any major abilities from Doomfist. Moira because of that lazer hand beam and the death ball. Brigitte because of that shield bash. (Don’t know if you can/can’t parry the melee and whip shot.)
Do you think genji is fine where he is? Does he need a nerf or buff?
(I would like a less damage taken when deflecting non-deflectable attacks Eg. zarya’s beam)

genji doesn’t need buffs until his winrate and pickrate drops
but that’s never gonna happen because those gengu mains always find a method to avoid their counters

i think he definitely deserves a small hp increase and maybe a decent % of his hp converted to shields but other than that genji is just a high skill hero, you either have what it takes to play him or you don’t

He’s fine. He’s always been fine, but now he’s getting heroes who can counter his mobility and the crutches he’s had for a while in his kit. That’s why it feels more obvious IMO.

I think he’s good where he is. He has some issues they could “fix” that both help and hurt him a little. I wouldn’t consider Doomfist much of a counter, Moira is a counter for sure, and Brigitte I’m not too sure about yet. Sombra is better against him than before so theres that too.
I think a big thing is that Moira and Winston’s pickrates are very high, particularly Moira’s, and they are Genji’s biggest counters imo.
Genji already doesn’t struggle against Doomfist by holding down space bar

Fine where he is. Have always felt so. Maybe a bit overrated and over-used for quite a while now, but never OP. Current trends are certainly working against him, but I think he’ll settle in fine. We’ll probably wind up keeping all the really good Genji players but losing a fair amount of the so-so ones… which is fine with me.

Because having 3 passives under 1 passive ability is overloaded.
Because having an ability with an objectively broken hitbox that hasn’t been addressed is overloaded.
Because having such good mobility that you escape your counters prior, who theoretically should beat you, is overloaded.
And no. I’m speaking on Genji before and after the Sombra buff and the introduction of Moira and Brigitte. He was statistically fine before. He has weaknesses that couldn’t be countered before because of the mobility. Now we’re having heroes who can momentarily stop that mobility or work through his deflect.
I can easily generalize and attack you for suggesting a really stupid Genji buff when he’s fine, probably because you like tooting that you play this high-skill hero. But…really, why? lol.

my problem is playing the game in an elo where if you kill like 2 people with dragonblade an entire rank of players who have demonstrated their inability to counterpick match after match literally want you to die so much they will swap to every imaginable perceived counter in the game that they actually start to counter you
i mean i just swap to reaper and murder them all because i am a terrible genji but thats not the point lol
i wouldn’t say moira is a counter but she is very annoying to deal with on top of all the area damage spam this game is getting now

good genjis are rare, most aren’t really doing much other than killing your healers or pressing q

Genji will never ever need a Buff like EVER, if anything a FIX to his Obnoxious Deflect and Hit Box that are Beyond broken is needed. I absolutely hate Genju kit… but i like a challenge so No Nerf and No Buff . But i would say practice more and more mate, you will get really good with him in no time.

genji’s mobility is nothing compared to sombra’s or tracer’s
if you’re gonna attack genji for his mobility you need to look at all mobile heroes
yes genji is able to double jump and climb walls but he lacks damage
his shurikens are poking you at most not doing much damage unless he is close to you ofcourse, if blizzard removes his mobiliy then there is no reason to pick him over soldier or mccree

I DO NOT THINK GENJI IS OP. I’m not attacking him. That’s just the hero who this topic is about, and what the person who responded to me posted, when they attacked me for saying what I did.
Why do you think I want his mobility removed? Even before Sombra buffs happened, before Brigitte was announced, before Moira was announced - I didn’t think Genji was OP. Statistically he wasn’t. He’s not now, nor was he. It’s just that he had so much variety of mobility that a lot of people’s frustration banked on it.
But I never wanted that nerfed. You can look at my post history, even with D.Va and other heroes like Genji - I would rather have heroes that can counter that kind of mobility properly. Brigitte is the answer to that, as is Moira. And I’m glad they did that rather than nerfing Genji who was not OP to begin with. Nerfing a non-OP hero like Genji is suboptimal.
The heroes that counter Genji because of his mobility also counter Tracer and other popular dive heroes. I don’t want any of their mobility removed. But, again, I’m happier with this new hero that can actually give them a weakness by slowing them temporarily.
