This Sombra Buff

Im might not be a thound-hours Sombra Player but I play her alot and I just think she really needs that. What kind of buff or nerf she needs to have in your opinion? Or what kind of changes do you want to see for her?
Overall I love her playstyle like an stealthed assassin with the new changes on the experimental card and like I sayed it feels smoother for me and just like to have it on the live server.
And btw, Soldier:76 got a buff earlyer on his speed too that he can shot right after that quicker so why not sombra too?

I’d increase EMP cast time by 0.3 (so that it stays the same, or to 0.25 to make it faster) and hack cast time by 0.2 so that it’s not a free hack. I agree that her being able to shoot faster is satisfying

I will never support a Sombra buff that doesn’t also include changing how hack works on Lucio, and reverting the crossfade change to disabling the changing of songs but leaving the currently playing song playing.

I think the movement speed buff she got is fine. The time delay on entering stealth i think is also fine. It’s the time existing from stealth that I think would be problematic, as it reduces the time people have to react to her quite considerably.

I think it’s pretty obvious from community feedback that Sombra is not a popular hero to play against, especially from tanks, due to hack. I dont want the hero to become too annoying or frustrating to play against, so I’m generally not in favor of anything that would decrease the time to hack enemies, as it’s already pretty low.

I also am of the opinion that her damage output is actually not bad. I know that one is an unpopular opinion, but I generally think she’s just an aim intensive hero.

With all of that in mind, personally the buffs I’d like to see for her are ones that reduce her downtime in fights. So things like increased movement speed in stealth are a big yes for me, since it allows her to get back to the fight more quickly, in addition to increased map navigation. I also wouldn’t mind seeing improvements to translocator, though I’m not going to pretend I have any truly great ideas on that front. I also think i would be in favor of changes like not making damage immediately take you out of stealth, so that it could actually be used mid-combat, instead of forcing translocation.

I also dont actually think she’s that far off from being OK, i think she’s just a hero that relies very heavily on coordination and communication which is uncommon outside of very high ranked play. I consider it OK for the game to have heroes that are considered “advanced” and not beginner or even intermediate friendly.

If they keep the decreased decloaking time, I think it would be alright if they reverted hack’s cast time back to 0.8s. You’d still have the benefits of faster decloaks but now hacking from stealth should be at the same speed it is in vanilla.

A while ago experimented with increasing the translocator’s projectile speed and gravity so that you can throw it faster while still maintaining the same trajectories. I remember I increased it from like 25m/s to 30m/s. It worked pretty and you could reach places just a little bit faster.

As for your other suggestion, I think they could add one of the other changes made to stealth in the April Fools Patch. Something like this.

  • Taking Damage no longer reveals Sombra. Instead she’ll now be revealed and have her movement buff removed for 1s upon taking damage.

I think something like this could work while still being balanced. It would allow Sombra to be a bit more aggressive but can still be countered through the use of spam such as from D.VA or Roadhog. How it would play during a midfight, I don’t know exactly but not having 0.1 damage instantly break stealth would prove useful.

Or as others have suggested adding some sort of damage threshold for stealth. Anywhere from like 10-25 might work.
