This is my first and probably only post but im sure im not the only one that at times gets very fed up with overwatch’s matchmaking system. In some cases it doesn’t even feel like there is any matching outside of the overwatch leauge and comp and to an extent i understand that. But you should never as a solo player be on a team with 5 other solos up against a full 6 stack. Your at an extreme disadvantage. Of course in a classic competitive game setting to throw salt onto your wounds then this lovely 6 stack will then talk smack about how they destroyed you and that you guys should have played better. Overwatch’s matchmaking or well seemingly lack thereof in quick play has always been one of my biggest complaints. Id just thought i would share what i find so frustrating about this game. I cant include a link in my post, probably because i am new to the forums or i would show what i was dealing with.
Oh, wow. I expected your teammates to be in a big stack with you as a solo queuer.
It seems I’ve regained lvl 3 for the time being, but it keeps going back and forth between level 2 and 3 every post or so I try to link something.
Yeah it didnt exactly go all that well of a game
Yeah… I figured.
Was it very late in the night or very early in the morning?
That’s a really uhmm, nice team comp there. I don’t think the stack part mattered with that.
Well, it was soloQ quickplay. You don’t usually get them to coordinate to play 2-2-2, much less GOATs.
QP? yeah, I wouldn’t complain about qp it’s meme unto it’s own.
The QP Matchmaking is the reason why i mostly play Comp when i SoloQ im so tired to play against a 5 - 6 stack when my team is full of Soloq Playerswho mostly instant picks 4 - 5 DPS. this shouldnt be a thing i would rather waiting longer fo a fair match than this unbalanced thing .
BTW the most thing that shocked me on OPs Pic is 6 STACK PLAYING GOATS IN QP … nope this is way to much for me today
Yes it can be possible for 6 solo queues to play against 6 stacks, though it is rare. Scott Mercer details this about grouping up in Overwatch.
i am going to complain about the circumstances im sure that’ll help my gameplay lol
I’ve seen this happen before. It’s when you have 2 full 6-stacks and one team leaves. The game just quickly backfills anyone it can find and most of the time it’s all solo people.
I use to play with 5 other friends (looong time ago) and we would often sit in queue for a good 5-10 minutes till we got a match for quick play.
Solo mm is the only place where you can show your individual skill set.
Individual skill set consists of not only by how you good at aiming and gamesense, but also at how good are you at shotcalling and being leader for every new mix-team. If you can influence to what’s happening at your current game not by only forcing “swith %heroname” but being reasonable and count what actual players can do - that’s the way to improove. I used to play EU regions then I decide to play NA with 160 latency, just because here is much more reasonable ppl trying to do thier bests and using vc at all levels. Not every time like this, but still much better that at EU. So, try to enjoy your curent community.
This is within the realm of possibility and they have recognized that.
Unfortunately you just have to deal with it. You will likely never see this again, honestly.
On a related note, this effects Endorsement level too. If you solo queue, you can get put up against 6 stacks, which puts you at a disadvantage, but you play with more people and can raise/maintain your endorsement level. However, if you make a 6 stack, you might have a more cohesive team, but then your Endorsement level will plummet, because you can’t get enough Endorsements per match to maintain/increase your level.
It’s a very “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation.
