This report system and questions

Good evening everyone.

After being suspended and penalized my second time of playing this game I genuinely cannot fathom how the report system works.
I am under the impression that if a selected individual has been reported multiple times that its a AUTOMATIC punishment. No human/manual system to check or penalize players. If my assumption is correct. I have two questions…

Who and how in the world did someone give the green light to this and how is it STILL the system we use today… If this is true. That would mean that if someone is unfairly punished. They would then need to go and submit a support ticket that honestly takes more time to answer then whatever punishment they gave you for being reported, and wait until you truly are innocent and appealed. Or just wait out whatever penalty you received.
HOW is this FAIR? Another thing I understand is that tons of people get on reddit or these forums and complain and whine how they “Didn’t deserve the punishment” Now trust me. Whatever reason I’m suspended for. Looking at it from a Game Masters eyes (If they even check reports to warrant the punishments) Would probably come out to be reasonable.

HOWEVER This system is obviously very easy to abuse. Dont like someone for literally ANY reason whatsoever? No worries. Just a small report, By the end of the week they’ve probably been reported multiple times by people just like you! Leading to them being INSTANT silenced, suspended or perma banned. How in Gods green earth are we just letting this happen. The fact im not seeing more people actually riot about this is genuinely disturbing. Ive been playing since 2017. Never ever got punished for any reason.
NOW? Oh bless your heart, dont even THINK about asking ANYONE to do ANYTHING. Youll prob get reported and because enough reports = Automated punishment. Your screwed. No human intervention needed to open up your ow2 startup just to get hit with that “Please see email” See what… A copy and paste message detailing that you probably got suspended for braking tos?

Essentially what im trying to get on here and say is, That the players control the report system now. Not the game devs or game masters. The players. Only do they open your ticket to see the chat logs do the reinstate your account back.

Something needs to change and fast. Ive now seen players all over online ditching the game just for this system alone. And tbh ive now considered it too.

Pie.

TLDR; The system is flawed and needs changing.

You are 100 percent correct.

Here in the forums you will find a whole plethora of people that love the system because I means they get to exact vengeance for their own failings in life.

Someone cooked here.
No but in all seriousness. I’m concerned and curious why more people aren’t asking for change. From all the little tiffs I make about blizzard. One thing they do, do. Is listen to the players. (After enough time and a overwhelming majority)

Pretty much every single report/ban system works like that and has worked like that for years (and for good reason, it doesn’t cost 1000 salaries).

It’s arguably too sensitive, sure, but the system itself is fine. It only became an issue pretty recently when they tuned it up (fewer reports needed for suspensions from what I can gather), but they didn’t change the system itself.

People have been asking. Problem is, it’s the wrong people. Blizzard decided to agree with the career offended and create a system of punishment that rewards the unstable and maladjusted. They can because they tend to be in a unique situation financially.

Yes, eventually that good will most certainly will be eroded into nothingness. We must wait for that to happen.

My advice, turn chat off, don’t key bind any voice lines. Play the game as if you were against 5 bots and have 4 bot teammates. More then likely that’s the case anyway.

Apologies. I was under the impression for as long as I can remember that there was a time in ow1 that humans controlled the actual reports of the game. However if you are correct about the recent “changes” Tuning up if you will where fewer reports = penalty then that is an issue and a whole 'nother can of worms
