This new patch - No models loading - Slow loads

After this patch went live with the new Dva and Rein skins, my game took so long to load on launch.

Then when I am in a game, the hero select screen is not loading any models. I pick zarya for example, I am in the map running around and I do not see my character model. I do not see other players. There is no sound. The only thing I see is a blue orb indicating that I am just a spawned player but no character model is showing.

I wait for the character model to finally show, then the game is working. But if I switch to another hero, the character model is not showing.

Frusterating. This was not happening yesterday at any point.

I have a i7 4700k cpu and a gtx 1080 gpu. Not a TI.

I also uninstalled the game entirely, and reinstalled the game. The problem is still persisting. This patch is the problem for only my pc it seems like.

UPDATE:

I am going to update any nvidia drivers. If the problem is still there, I will post an unlisted video link on youtube and put the link here showing the problem.

If the driver update fixes this, I will delete this thread.

Same issue here. I run on an SSD and always have very fast loads, but this patch I’m sometimes stuck on the map loading screen for 20 seconds or more and often when I load in, I have no 1st person model and all the other player models are glowing blue orbs for the first minute of the game.

Here check this video recording out.

This is what is going on. The first few seconds of the video is me trying to press CTRL + Z to show the ui, then I load a quick play match.

I also made this recording after I updated the nvidia drivers to the latest version

I made sure I had all the updates current, cleared the cache, and then rebooted. I still see some slow load times but it’s nothing compared to what this video shows above. Very well could be a bug with this patch.

Same thing is happening to me I even updated the drivers this stuff is annoying never happened before and after the driver update it still doesn’t work

I have the same issue - I updated my drives, reinstalled my game, the issue is still there
