This is why Sombra is a no skill hero

I’m making this post because I’m tired of Sombra mains telling me “She’s hard to play, she’s the most technical hero”, and my personal favorite, “Her rework is actually a nerf!” Don’t make me laugh.

1.) She has unlimited survivability. Any old schmuck can run balls deep into the enemy team, but only Sombra can make it out 100% of the time. Try this with any other character and you’ll get your butt handed to you real quick. Translocator lasts forever and has a 4 second cool down, imagine how many people would be complaining if Tracer could Recall every 4 seconds.

2.) Infinite invisibility is a buff. I don’t care what any numbnut Sombra says, it’s a straight up buff. She can prance around the battlefield for as long as she wants without a worry in her heart. Free to pick off your healers with no repercussions. (remember, she has Translocator.)

3.)Hacking takes no skill, impossible to react to, and there’s no counterplay. Take Roadhogs Hook into consideration, there’s PLENTY of ways to outplay it. Jump behind a corner, jump behind a teammate, be Reaper or Ana, not to mention all the bugs that causes it to break for absolutely no reason. Sombra holds right click and needs zero precision to do so AND it only gets a 2 second cooldowns if she takes damage, a slap on the wrist. Imagine how many people would be complaining if Roadhogs Hook got reduced cool down every time it broke.

4.) “Her TTK is the worst of any hero!” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no. I did the math. Sombra does 8 damage per bullet and fires 20 per second. That means it takes her 1.25 seconds to kill any 200hp hero without headshots. Her Uzi also has a giant drum attached to it, so she can spray and pray and still kill you. If she somehow does get outplayed, she can teleport to her Health pack.

5.) Just because a character has a stun does not mean they counter Sombra. Every character is effected by stuns equally, it has the same effect on everyone and does the same thing no matter who you play. With that logic, McCree is a potential counter to every hero in the game. Mei is no good either because Sombra can teleport to her health pack as soon as she starts slowing down. And I hear you saying “Roadhog has a hook!” News flash, she can spam her teleport and escape before dying just like Tracer, Moira, and Reaper can. Doomfist has the same issues with those characters.

In conclusion, why the hell did Blizzard think she needed a buff and not consider maybe fixing hook, fixing Doomfist, fixing Mercy, fixing Hanzo etc?

Did you take into account her spread since it causes a good number of bullets to miss especially on a squishy you can barrel stuff but the enemy usually has a better gun

Did you even try playing her in game? For 10 hours at least?

conflating skill floor with skill ceiling, exhibit A

i thought it was Sombra mains’ biggest criticism that the rework dumbed her down anyway, so what are you even on about

I hope this is just bait.

If you don’t think Sombra is weak, pick her in Comp and see how long it takes for your teammates to start screaming at you.

She actually is one of the hardest heroes to play effectively…

You must fight fire with fire and have a Sombra on your team! Then the enemy Sombra can’t press e!

Overall response: Play Sombra then and stop complaining.

Also here are my responses to each of your points:

  1. “Sombra can make it out 100% of the time” - to reach near 100%, Sombra would have to place her translocator very far away so enemies couldn’t kill it (meaning valuable team fight time waste). In addition, stun, hack and related abilities allow Sombra to be killed before she translocates.

  2. Yes she can stay invisible forever, that makes the game a 5v6 (this is not an advantage - 5v6 is a disadvantage). In addition, “picking off healers with no repercussions” is not true, it takes quite a bit to come out of invisibility AND to finish killing someone. The enemy of Sombra can determine there is a Sombra and be prepared for it.

  3. Hacking is cancelled upon taking damage: Just about any hero can continually cancel her hack by damaging her, Mei and Junkrat are great at this.

  4. You are assuming she is shooting at a still target that is not prepared for a Sombra. Pay attention to the game, maybe the first kill in a low skill-level game will be Sombra, but in low level play, one kill is not a game changing thing. in higher level play, the enemy team will realize there is a Sombra before the first kill.

  5. If Sombra continually teleports to her translocator every time she is hit by Mei, she now turned the game into a 5.1v6, this is not an advantage: It is a disadvantage.

Overall the buff has made Sombra a more viable pick: Easier to play for players at lower-level play, and little to no effect at higher level play. Based on the games I have been playing, it has made players who are new to Sombra to be less effective, which overall has resulted in a “nerf” - I say this because they stay invisible and translocate more - pushing my team to fight imbalanced fights.

I wasn’t really being serious, you don’t need to do much other than look at the title to know that this is a troll post! :+1:

She also has one of the longest set up times and one of the longest down times of all characters not to mention joining a team fight is near suicide for Sombra as she has no abilities to actually help in a fight.

Not really, it dropped the skill floor allowing newer and average Sombra’s to play her more effectively but it added nothing to her impact overall.

Roadhog’s hook is broken and is in desperate need for attention, like Sombra’s hack was when LoS was breaking on just about everything. Comparing a broken ability to one that works is a bad comparison.

Besides that, Sombra rarely has the opportunity to follow up on her hack by herself, Roadhog has one shot potential tied to his hook. On top of the combo, it’s also a displacement tool and can more effectively environmental kill someone which means they can’t be rezzed back.

This doesn’t, in any way, account for her sub par spread. If you land all your shots, sure it will kill but you have less chance than Tracer when it comes to accuracy.

If she is a no skill hero than go on. Lets see how easy you climp with her on the comp ladder. At least top 500 I asume, eh?

Which gives her a huge downside … high downtime. And it’s not like she can’t die.

It’s neither a buff nor a nerf …. just a change.

Hack gets interrupted very often if you use it at the wrong time/position, if you can’t react to it git gud and and the counterplay …. beside not getting hacked … is to pick heroes who counter Sombra or are not as **** when they got hacked.

It is. Very hard to kill targets with small hitboxes. Works great on tanks tho.

True, but it makes them a better pick angainst her than others.

I think you just have to pick her once to notice how much skill she requires. Im assuming you nevr used her

I would like to see you play her in comp because the way you talk clearly says that you did not play her.

  1. The difference being that Tracer does not get taken out of the fight for ± 10-15s before she can do her job again Sombra does.

  2. Yes, its a buff but it changes basically nothing every second you’re in Stealth your Team is 5v6 the only use it has is to wait for Zen to shoot out his charged shot before trying to kill him. The speed reduction removed a lot of cap jumps which played a huge role in it Sombra’s mobility. She can’t just take of healers only if you Team is st*pid enough to leave them alone.

  3. Don’t make me laugh again try to play Sombra on a Higher level and try to get your no worry free hack’s off without trained extremely good positioning and awareness (Spoiler: you won’t get any hacks off) Because 0.65 second is more then enough to do 1dmg to Sombra if you’re not able to you may should start working on your Reaction time (A normal human has ca. 0.25s Rection time so you still have 0.5s to find and shoot Sombra what is more than enough when she is not in an extremely good position)
Sombra’s hack has even more bugs then Roadhog btw. And all of the points you mentioned to counter Hook go for Hack too.

  4. Well problem being you will not hit even a part of your bullets (only if you stand in the face of a Tank in which case he will just kill you) because of her Spreat but Sombra’s gun really does not need buffs its fine.

  5. Well yea but Stuns are always more effective against Flanker/Mobile targets then in-mobile targets that isn’t really special?

Because She is weak? She is not worth the place in your team? ect ect?

They fixed Hook on PTR, Doomfist needs Bugfixes yes but he is fine balance wise, Mercy is fixed, Hanzo is fixed.
Sombra has more bugs then Doomfist how about we start fixing them? or bring her in a position she actually can be played without having 5 other players tell to kill my self before we even more out of the Spawn (no joking this actually happened to me once was really depressing to have to hear that from other 5 sane players)

Conclution: Don’t talk about how easy other Hero’s are before you played them.
Sombra is a high skill floor and skill ceiling Hero with thank to infinite Stealth/TL is now a trap for new’er players

I find this funny. I guess you are not aware that all of these things break Hack’s LoS or worse, due to bugs Hack will reset on another target. Hack still has some frustrating bugs, just like Hook.

Why would they use trans more? If you need to get out you use it so id this it would be about the same.

Nope, not getting baited by this one. Especially from someone who has a private profile yet wants to talk mess about a character.

To everyone saying “Play the hero first.” I make it a point to at least try out heroes before bashing them. That’s how I came to th3 conclusion that Hanzo’s OP, Roadhog is useless right now, Mercy is a terrible healer, and Sombra doesn’t require enough skill to justify the reward.

1.) Infinite invisibility IS a buff. Anyone worth their salt would use it to call out enemy positions and ability cooldowns. Information gathering use to be Pharahs strong suit since she can fly, but Sombra does it better because she’s faster than Pharah and doesn’t get shot down because no one can see her.

2.) Longest down time? How long does it take to throw a Translocator? If ANYONE can’t get back to the fight within 8 seconds, they’re garbage. It’s no excuse unless your beacon is at spawn, but then again, why would it be there?

3.) I saw some guy post “UsE yOuR gUn MaYbE?” Why thank you! With that sort of insight, you must be GM or higher! You hear that everyone? As long as you have a gun, you counter Sombra!
Rofl gtfo.

4.) I In fact, did not consider her spread. But unless your shooting some skinny heroes like Tracer or Genji I can’t say it’s that much of a restraint. There are plenty of stocky heroes like Torbjorn, Doomfist, Bastion, just the way Junkrat hunches puts his face well within his torso region.
