I’m a graphic designer.
I like colors.
I like ALL colors.
I like rainbows.
They’re a source of happiness and wonder for child and adult alike.
A beauty of nature. The symbol of sunshine after rain.
But now a rainbow is a political statement.
I can’t use a rainbow or multiple base colors within a logo or something without it becoming a symbol for LGBTQ and it is kinda frustrating and limits creative freedom. It’s effectively a cultural appropriation and I want the colors cancelled.
…
Am I talking complete BS now?
Absolutely.
LGBTQ is cool. Happy pride month. Love you

Nah…I feel the same. I actually really like rainbows and think they’re amazing and pretty to look at. They’re supposed to be a symbol of hope in many cultures. They appear as perfect arcs, often during a rainstorm when the sun shines onto water droplets, shattering its white light into an array of brilliant colors. I have no problem with lgbt, I just hate how I can’t wear anything rainbow schemed without someone going “LUL U GAE BRO?”

This just simply isn’t true.

Damn, that must be so hard for you. If only gay people could understand how that feels…

I can’t tell you how much i hate these statements.
I think it’s insane that people call the request of the Pride Movement political.
Shouldn’t it be normal to treat everyone with human decency no matter what…
People shouldn’t have to fight for equality no matter their sexuality, skin color, religious believes, gender identity, etc.
Fighting for human rights only because one is LGBTQ…
It should be self-evident to have all of that.
That’s why i can’t understand people saying they don’t “accept” LGBTQ, too.
How is that any different from saying “i dont accept women”, nowadays people would laugh at you for stating that.
I hope i could get across what i was trying to say.
But anyway, happy pride

LGBT people get killed, disowned and bullied for being LGBT. And you complain about not being able to wear rainbows anymore?
And so what if they represent LGBT? That’s not a bad thing. It’s a good thing to be an ally. You should be proud

Like I said in another thread:
I like rainbows in general and it’s probably a good thing they were “co-opted” by the pride movement because otherwise I doubt we would see anywhere near the same amount of rainbows around. Pride made a booming rainbow market

get ready OP
Yes, that is exactly my issue with it. Getting something that everyone can enjoy and use it for your own agenda.

I think you’re the only one who actually read the entire post. Everyone else just getting triggered halfway through xD

Rainbow colors can mean whatever you want them to mean. In the UK the rainbow was used as a show of support for the national health service during the pandemic.
Yes, I read the whole post. I just felt like saying this anyway. 🙅

Disclaimer: I read through the entire thing, and I do agree, haha funnee joke. But for those taking this meme completely in good faith, I reiterate the following points I’ve made under various anti-LGBTQ posts that un-ironically took this turn:
I can’t think about elephants or donkeys now without thinking about Democrats or Republicans.
I can’t think about bears without thinking about California’s state flag.
I just want to think about the cross and its extensive use as a torture device, but no, I have to think about Jesus. Harumph.

You tell this you get called a bigot…
I’m not even sure what you’re being sarcastic about. Are you just spewing free range rage this point? Someone wants to wear a shirt with a rainbow on it without making a political statement, and you’re…implying that they should suffer because other people are discriminated against? Do you really think this, or are you just incredibly wound up?
I think some of you should learn to read all the way through instead of only reading part and then assuming. In the comments acting like clowns…

My question is, why is this on an overwatch forum? Like I’ve seen other ones about pride content (which is amazing) but I don’t think this is where these discussions are meant to be.
What isn’t political these days?
