People will continue to argue about MMR and SR and “git gud” etc.
I played 2 games last night, steam rolled both with Rein. Was a total of FOUR (4) SR away from finally getting plat. Next game said in chat “Well, I’m 4 SR from plat and just rolled my last 2 games, so naturally the secret match making will kick in and I’ll be trying to get back for a week.”
3 games lost in a row. And I mean smoked, couldn’t even get a tick on first point.
You keep on being you Blizzard. You should open up a casino once COVID dies down because you’re already half way there.
Edit Played 2 games this morning. Both an absolute steam roll. Can provide codes if you like. Both include a no mic Sombra. Back to the bottom we go. The house will always win.

A general rule of thumb, don’t play beyond two loses.
Im generally harsher with myself and stop after the first one because i get tilted very easily and know that i wont play optimally.

My losses were last night. I turned the game off. Tried again this morning, both a shut out. Couldn’t push the cart past the first corner on Dorado. Couldn’t get a single tick first point of Numbani.
i guess blizzard owes it to you to hit platinum

Was consistently mid plat every season until they forced role queue.
So because role lock now magically I don’t know how to play the game any more?
Edit: Also, played all my matches in Open Comp, immediately placed higher than I tried to climb on ANY of the 3 roles in 2/2/2. I would love to play Open Comp more, but people just treat it like Arcade.

just play for fun, i climbed from bronze maybe 800 sr to 3450 peak and all by playing what i want and who i want.
playing meta does not help you climb but helps others work with you so it can maybe help you climb a lil but it is mostly strictly for top 500s.
but ya playing whatever you want and playing for fun is the way to go, you can’t avoid losses they will always happen so best to just get used to them and learn to not tilt and focus on having fun since you climb easier in a clam state and will win more sr than you loss if you earn the nest rank.
lets not forgot how people go from unranked to gm, if they can do it anyone can climb to gm you just have to learn how to.

So, if there’s say, a Doomfist diving into the backline nonstop, or he’s super aggressive and CC’ing us tanks into oblivion for his team to follow up. I no longer have the ability to swap to Sombra for a bit, force him off, and then go back to tank.
If the other people simply refuse to switch, how should I “adapt” to this situation? Because remember, it’s a team game, so me, a solo person, can not fill all the gaps by myself. How would you suggest I rectify this situation?
by playing more games, you should know by now that you cant always affect the outcome. if you dont want to do that then… dont
play enough games and you will hit the rank you deserve

Just don’t play comp. Is a useless waste of nerves.
Al for a number wich you will be shamed of despite the rank and a gold weapon that in end is useless aswell.

yes that “secret matchmaking” is the 50/50 system. This means if you arent better than the next rank up you will simply not be ready for the next rank. Stop craving the number for SR and go after the skill aspect. The sr will follow fast.

So I can play Rein exactly the same way for 2 games, in the exact same rank, only within 100SR of each other, then just get murdered? I’m not talking about playing in mid gold and then playing a game in masters.
This is what get us players frustrated. How can we get totally destroyed after some wins within 50-100 SR? I can see if we are gold players who bought a boosted account and get decimated, but I’m talking 50 SR where some players were even in your last game.
I swear it’s purposely designed like this to keep the carrot on the string.
Is hard to follow the skill aspect with all the smurfs that roam in comp. If there was a bit of balance in comp maybe people can learn since they will have room to play instead of goin out of the spawn and lose every single fight because someone can’t stay only on one acc

DPS players, or players in general, please stop watching Youtube for tips on this game. Please never, ever watch a Youtube video about Overwatch, because you come to this rank and try to replicate nonsense.
It’s not Blizzard’s fault you had no mic Sombras. That’s the fault of those players. All you can do is try to enable them the best you can anyway. I promise the other team had bad teammates, too.

it is a team game. individually you just have to do the best you can do and hope you dont have 5 lemons which makes the game a casino game like you said. so dont take your sr too seriously. if you do take it seriously you should probably stop playing a team game and look for games that reward individual rankings? dont have a clue what game does that tho
or maybe try really hard to find a premade somehow, takes alot of work tho but if you try hard enough and try to make friends you might climb instead of individual queue’ing (if thats what your doing). like minded people even a team of 2 or 3 can rise you up the ranks
