This game will always have terrible balance

I’d go further and say “yes”, simply because even an “entry level job” should pay a livable wage. Really sad how even that concept is so hotly contested.

Some folks here make it sound like not everybody is worth a liveable wage.
We are not talking about luxury here, but the bare minimum.

And overpaying CEOs and managers is an issue. They don’t need that much money. Those things are one of the reasons why capitalism doesn’t work.

People who don’t get money can’t spend money.

lol, we know this wouldn’t happen unless we get old versions of heroes in the workshop but that most likely won’t happen :man_shrugging:

OVERWATCH RETAIL PATCH NOTES – AUGUST 13, 2019

Reinhardt

New Passive: “Steadfast”

  • Reduces knock back effects by 30%

*Developer Comment: As a frontline, melee-range tank Reinhardt was more adversely affected by knock back abilities than most heroes. To reduce some of this frustration and enable Reinhardt to more easily fulfill his role, he is now more resistant to being knocked back.

OVERWATCH RETAIL PATCH NOTES – DECEMBER 10, 2020

D.VA

We’re increasing the ratio of armor to health that D.Va’s mech has to enable it to withstand more damage from shotguns, beams, and weapons with a high rate of fire.

  • Mech Armor/Health has been redistributed from 200/400 to 300/300

Not saying I’m the only one who asked for these changes I saw them suggested many times by other people. But they were changes most likely inspired by the community.

It does seem as though a lot of their balance changes come months or years after the community discussed/requested it.

Money doesn’t breed passion.

In many cases it’s the other way around.

Pay people well, give them benefits, make them feel like their a part of the company and then they’ll want to do better. Ultimately if your treated with respect and are helped then you’ll want to do better in order to help the company and yourself.

yes they should when the job is located there. commutes over an hour suck. two hours a day commuting adds up to a lot of time wasted

so how much do the employees make? you supplied no numbers or evidence of this

cant afford rent? how do we know they arent living somewhere knowing they can barely afford it

cant eat? how do we know they are eating according to their wages/budget and not trying to eat like kings?

cant have a baby cause of money? everyone knows having a child can drain money… if you currently cant afford one then dont have one lol

balance is great, hero’s are all within a +/3% win rate lol. ya’ll overexaggerating this balance thing

People are paid what they are worth. Everyone believes they are worth more than they make but it is 99% not true. The people that truly are worth more are able to land a higher paying job.

It is not the employer’s job to babysit people who live beyond their means just because they are trying to buy things they see other people buying.

No sugar coating.

Yes let’s pay people who are under crunch less money because they are ’disposable.’ Do you see how bad you sound?

I like how gamers always love to take the sorry state of the video game industry and make it about themselves. “I mean normally I wouldn’t care if someone is not making a living wage - so long as it doesn’t affect MY video game balance or MY video game release date.”

fyi: primarily, the people working at Bliz who are in roles that are getting f***ed have nothing to do with the balance of this game.

As somebody who works AS a software tester/developer…

Yes. Yes they should. If your employees are starving despite working for you, they will leave. And it’s always better to retain employees instead of hiring new ones.

I feel like the general ‘gamer’ population has become errogiously entitled.

They might not have a choice there. Cities take forever to drive through. You’d be lucky to even get decent parking. Commutes from outside the city can take hours on a bad day. No sane person would be willing to do that for any company - myself included. They’d find work elsewhere asap.

Answer from leadership who fired 800 employees in a year of record earnings: no.

I work for a company that does 25% of Blizzard’s earnings and 3% of it’s employees. My CEO makes 2.5% of what Kotick makes. When we had record profits last year, we hired people, not fired +10% of our workforce.

Success is possible while having a shred of human decency.
