its horrible atm…there is no ranks anymore…u can face bronzies or gm in any rank cuz everyone is playin new account! this game is doomed and ow 2 will only give it small breath…i never seen any other game with this big alt account/smurf problem.

They should reset the mmr and ranks and make everybody start from the bottom.
Every game does this…only Overwatch makes people start from the MIDDLE.

This would cause bronze players and gm’s to play each other for months before everything gets sorted out.

Yes, it wouldn’t change much for the first time period, but people that actually belong in bronze or silver would actually stay in bronze and silver in the long run, unless they improve and rank up.
There is much talking about toxicity, well the first reason are “bad team mates” that people get mad at. Because they just got into COMP and the game expect them to do good against plat and above skill players.
This would solve a bit of toxicity, a bit of smurfing (with other improvements on the matchmaker needed) and overall everyone in every rank would have a better comp experience.
TBH, without having some sort of way to limit accounts to one per person in comp, the issue will just keep happening again and again. The amount of people who buy and sell accounts and go through accounts weekly for one reason or another will just constantly screw with the rankings. Seriously, at virtually any time you can go into Looking For Group and find ‘deranking’ ‘boosting’ ‘buying/selling accounts discordtag#number’, ‘smurfing in X rank’, and other blatantly game ruining behaviors.

I promise y’all that the issue is not limited to comp, it’s also in arcade quickplay. The fact that accounts are so disposable means that there’s nowhere I can play a real game of Overwatch anymore.
I genuinely miss it, it was a fun game. It just… doesn’t exist anymore.
I can’t log in and play with a team of relatively equally skilled players and enemies anymore. Because that’s all I ever wanted, and it used to exist (wasn’t perfect, but even 5/10 games is still 5 good games)
It just… literally doesn’t exist now.

I suggest a band-aid solution, here:
Having given out over 50K accounts and had a free weekend and a sale altogether has created chaos… no question about it. QP games (yes, “its only QP”) are not much fun due to a Diamond + alt on one side and a new player on the other too often. Or the strangely common low level tank duos that seem utterly clueless on what tanking is. I even had a Plat tier Rein obviously throwing in QP this morning, I mean deliberately hiding off like he was going to flank then doing nothing or some weird suicide charge. Strange times to be playing no doubt.
This. I only do my placements for comp and the vast majority of my games have a smurf in them. Just last night we had a smurfing Widow using Aimbot…
I would genuinely love to see that happen. It’s horrible to say, but gosh it would be funny.

I’m seeing TONS of tank players that are deliberately throwing in the last two weeks. I’ve seen multiple Zarya’s deliberately not touching point, despite me having killed the entire enemy team and died in the fight; they were there with a pocket Mercy and literally just wouldn’t go on point. Just yesterday I had a Zarya that kept juking me out onto point, like she’d be right there with me, we’d be going forward, and then she would just stop just shy of the objective, never actually touching it.
When you have gold objective time as Symmetra at like 8 seconds, but two tanks on your team, you know something is wrong with the game. This scenario keeps happening too, it wasn’t a fluke; I’m not sure what their game is, but it’s clearly not Overwatch, it’s something else entirely.
Which begs the question; how many players like me who just want to Play Overwatch are going to stick around long term? I know I’m already so angry at Blizzard for their poor management of this game and bad choices over the last two years that I will not be sad at all when they crash and burn, but man… What a waste of potential, y’know?
It’s puzzling - I am tempted to say its just DPS players on tank to collect tickets and end matches as fast as possible in PP… a lot of folks warned the system would be abused if it didn’t reward wins only.
I’m literally talking about my experiences in ARCADE quickplay, so they’re not even getting passes here.
These are people who are throwing for… reasons I can’t even begin to understand. Literally, why? Yet here they are, ruining all my games. I just. Don’t. Get it.

Now that is really strange, I don’t know what the purpose would be then. Trolling is a problem in the game though, often by people who don’t care to improve.
Right now every match in Arcade Quickplay looks like this to me;
Two accounts grouped together, level 15-30, no stars. Brand new accounts. Their names are usually those large, italic letters.
One ridiculously high level account, the ones where it’s like silver and gold and super sparkly at the same time. Considering I’ve been playing for years and my profile color is still bronze on this acct. and I think maybe silver on my other one, I have to assume that these people have played for like… 5x the hours that I’ve played this game.
One platinum border
One silver border
One gold or bronze border but with a decent amount of stars.
So altogether, you have six accounts, each one with EXTREMELY DIFFERENT LEVELS of play time. Who’s good? Who’s bad? You can never tell, it’s an absolute crapshoot.
All I can tell is that the amount of hours you put into this game apparently have no bearing on where you’re placed in matches, because no matter how long you play, you’ll still be getting put in with brand spanking new accounts. I could have that super sparkly profile and I’d still be in these games, after all those other people are; so literally what’s the point? The game isn’t taking the time to match me based on skill, the game isn’t taking the time to match me based on hours played, so what’s the point?

Even in QP I am seeing games sometimes with Diamonds against silvers right now with the PP system 
So you want freshly made accounts to start in Bronze? Well that means smurfs have even less work to do before they can wreck games. No thanks
