I remember when this game 1st launched it was one of the top games in the America maybe in the world at that time. But the old saying what comes up must go down, I can’t believe fortnite is still number one on twitch. Blizzard you guys gotta stop listening to your top tier players and listen into the entire player base of people.

Different people like different things 
Personally, I think RQ was largely to blame. If you look at twitch viewership alone, in the months following RQ, it was cut in half. Of course, these forums will disagree with me, because they are the few that stuck around after RQ, but

and I can’t believe there are people who think OW and fortinite are literally the same gaming genre. 
Sometimes I think people use “fortnite” just as a derogatory adjective without really having a clue what it is NOT. and it is not OW1 / 2 etc.

In our market OW fell behind Valorant and Lost Arc. Now here is the funny part - no one here plays Valorant lol

Because it is pretty much the exact opposite of what Overwatch originally was. It’s all about try-harding and hitscan weapons. Super tight clutch plays, etc.
Overwatch was about a team-based effort filled with chaos and fun. It wasn’t meant to be a competitive esport until that’s where Blizzard saw dollar signs.

I recommend it for ppl to play still if it’s on sale
I agree, OW1 is so bad.
But I don’t blame the pros or the casuals. I blame the devs. No new content in 3 years

its been out for a very long time so i kind of think that anyone who wanted to “try it out” already has by now. its been on sale and free numerous times, so yea.
wonder if they really will get any “new” players on oct 4? probably returning players who havnt played in a long time?

Fortnite isn’t #1 on twitch, though. It’s a dead game, too.
What is #1 on twitch is Minecraft, and all the gambling games are the meta on Twitch right now.
People are being born every day. My son was six when Overwatch came out and my daughter will be four when OW2 releases. I can probably convince them both to try Overwatch (when appropriate). And then they will tell their friends, and so on. Just an example if where new players come from
