This game is like crack

Idk why but I just keep coming back to it even when I take numerous breaks. No matter how much crap I give it I always come back for some reason. When I play other game so always have overwatch at he back of my head. Even if this event is disappointing, I found myself coming back to play a few games. I think I’m a crackhead y’all.

Uninstalling and playing something else, presumably Apex Legends or Warframe in my experience, has been an excellent way to solve that problem.

I don’t think there’s a problem with taking breaks though. I do find myself coming back for an event or such, every once in a while. For me, the more breaks you take and the more opportunities you take into playing other games, the weaker the need to play Overwatch becomes.

Just embrace it.

Is it unhealthy? Yea… Do you regret it afterwards? Yea… Will it question whether or not its worth it? Yea… wait what was my point again?

Probably because it’s really good game… Many of the problems with the game are overly exaggerated

But more importantly there just aren’t many actual competitors for it…sure there’s plenty of shooters…but none that play like OW really (mostly BRs)…so if that’s a style of game you like you’re going to keep coming back because what other options do you have really? (That are better than OW or on par)

Basically despite the flaws…the reason why you play it to begin with hasn’t changed

only really need 1 good competitor to start siphoning away players, and they have that in the form of apex legends.

debatable

You’re right. It isn’t a really good game. It’s an amazing game.

I’m this way with WoW. I’ve quit and re-subbed to that game like 50 times in the past 12 or so years. I just can’t leave it behind.

Overwatch is kinda similar. I take breaks, but I never really leave it. Probably never will.

Yes and no…

Yes 1 good competitor is all that’s needed…but I’m still waiting for it cause it isn’t apex…hype around that game died so fast…it’s right down there with all the other non-fortnite games in terms of popularity (on twitch at least - yeah I know…but that’s what people like to cite on here)

And I mean like same genre anyway…a direct competitor doesn’t really exist

It’s just plain fun despite all the issues - like character design choices that Blizzard makes.

He beats me every other night with the same broken desk fan but he buys me clothes every 3 months so it’s all good.

Overwatch is the best

Not for me. I’ve never uninstalled the game, I just decided to stop playing.

Yeah, when I’m feeling competitive, I play overwatch. When I’m feeling extra casual, I play any numerous other games in my library.

But it’s a game. I come back to it because at it’s core, it’s fun. I’d like to think that’s why anyone comes back and why those ‘i quit!’ threads are a joke.

I may not agree with all blizzard does, but at it’s core, it’s the same.

Im the same way OP, with all games if Im being honest.

Smash, FFXIV, OW… i go through cycles of play where i cant step away but when I do, i come back and play harder.

I took a short break and reinstalled last weekend.

First game was a hard smurf on my team ruining my match, the second game I was put in a 4 stack and we were winning until they decided to play in traffic literally on that one traffic map while making stupid comments about their sexuality, then the other two games were 4 dps on one, and the other people randomly switching off a role mid match without saying anything.

Uninstalled again after that reminded me why I shouldnt play this game. As much as I want to enjoy it, I just dont.

Been playing World War Z and even with its lack of polish currently, having a blast.

I did. After seeing how badly the new dev team was ruining the game starting in WoD, I quit after playing pretty much continuously for 8 years.

Not going to give them my money to ruin the game. Ill let it die with grace.

There are frustrating parts (mostly other players) but at its core Overwatch is still a really fun game without peer.

It’s the polish… shiny and pretty things have always held humans attention regardless of actual worth.

It is the same tactics used by casinos. Flashy sounds, bright lights and those kinds of things.

If you actually wanted to quit, you would already do it by now.

For me overwatch is a great game, but like all games, it eventually made me bored of it. No kind of update will change this. Im on a break right now since 6 weeks ago, and im not seeing myself playing again until September.

Ask yourself: Do you like this game?

If yes, keep on playing it and ignore the doomsayers. The current trend dictates that this game must be hated, thats what make the views counting for these content creators.

Dont like it anymore? Understand that the game has nothing more to give to you and play something else.

The key is to understand why you keep playing this game.

I’ve said this before. It’s an actual drug. I hate it I wanna stop but at the same time I wanna play more to get that one good match and I love it

It’s a Blizzard game. This is par for the course.

I was addicted to Starcraft, then Diablo 2, then Starcraft 2, and now Overwatch

(somehow I dodged WoW)
