Your assumption here is that they have banned every single person cheating, and that every single active account would imply everyone of those people might cheat. While perhaps true, it’s unlikely that someone that logs in once a month to play vs AI would use cheats, or people that only play flappy mercy or the social custom games.
It’s much more likely that people cheating are those that play more often, and are those that would play quick play or competitive. And the active player base for those 2 modes (or 4 I guess including open queue) is not even close to 23 million.
And 1% of players cheating is 1/10 games, not 1/100 games.
I have no clue why you are trying to defend Overwatch like it is not flooded with cheaters. You want proof? Go on youtube and just google “Flats Cheaters” and watch the literal flood of content this dude has made reviewing the countless cheaters that are reported to him. This game is infested with them like a virus. At this point those whom are denying the existence of cheaters are either those whom use the aim bots themselves or just blindly worship Blizzard.
Never defend it. It has so many issues. Cheating is an issue, just not as big as I’d of thought when it went f2p.
Not really a good example. You know people submit these to his discord, thousands get rejected because they aren’t cheating. They get reviewed multiple times before he sees them. Then he posts to profit. (The guy also steals others people’s work and reuploads as “reaction” content… bit scummy)
Anyways. That sort of thing is misleading as it’s already pre filtered for him to view. And even then, he’s not posting many. Same with Jay3 and others that do it.
They only do it because “doom posting” gets more views and impressions. They are purely doing it to make money.
Thats already a bad calculation lol.
1/5 on your team wont leave the game because thats you.
Meaning that the percentage of leavers should be higher on the enemy team.
Except it doesnt feel like that to me at least.
It feels like its still 50- 60% chance they leave on your side of the team even though it should be lowered.
Its just perception because you remember the negatives easier then the positives.
I’ve seen your play. You are in the bottom of bronze. And you know what? yes, you’re right, leavers are a big thing down there. People figure “screw it I can’t drop any lower” and just bail when they’re not getting carried.
But where you’re wrong is that yes, it’s just as likely to happen to the other team.
The key thing is, whose team has someone leave first. Because then the other team senses a free win, and is less likely to have a leaver themselves. And there’s just the old mental bias; you’re not going to remember the wins you get because the other team has a leaver, but you’ll remember the ones you lost because you did.
Know how you jump this hurdle?
You get better. I know, “git gud” sounds trite, and it usually is but… again my friend I’ve seen you play and you have a LOT of simple things you could improve on. it’s genuinely not that hard. I’ll even tell you how to do it.
Stop queuing competitive. Seriously, stop. It’s frustrating you and everyone plays worse when they’re frustrated. Instead, queue for Quick Play. Pick a hero you like, and practice. There are no stakes, it’s quick play, so just do your best to train your aim on the enemy team. Learn your abilities. Find good positions and paths on the maps. Genuinely take the time to get your skills up.
And then, when you’re solid, genuinely solid, re-queue in Competitive. Hopefully you’ll be able to bop enough heads with your hero to make the difference even in a 4v5 or a 3v5. You don’t have to be Diamond+skill, you just have to be better than the Dirt V peopel you’re playing against. Make them have the leavers. Take those wins. And you’ll be up in Silver in no time (where leavers aren’t the problem, frothing tilters are.)
Honestly was trying to teach our niece how to play last night since she loves dva, and had my wife go on her one alt account so the matches wouldnt be too horrid. Welp since she was the tank it ended in loss streaks but we were ok with her learning.
I believe blizzard didnt like my wife being on an alt as it required her to do some puzzles, then today I played with her and the MM has been the most hack ridden mess ive seen in ages. Got shot out of miora fade… and after that I was done… I swear its setting us up against smurfs or boosters due to thinking we boosted… so ya its fun :P.
People complain about match rigging, and all these other things and Roku is just like “Coincidence, that is the answer” While Actiblizz has literal patents for match rigging that have been talked about on the forums. Can’t make this stuff up.
Game is still a sea of hackers and aimbots on a daily bases.
I agree its not personal attacks, however something is creating the fatigue effect in all blizzard games, and the symptoms are only growing, so either the tinkering behind engagement metrics has increase, or im crazy… and the latter is highly possible since i still played overwatch 2 for so long lol.
Again, consistency is a customers best friend however, I really think the mystery box addiction train, has infested a lot of gaming, and creating a roller coaster of matches, tricks you into thinking the game is constantly fresh… and that you need to improve… and that is the key to engagement… anyways farewell I think ill shy away from the forums for a while as again I keep coming back to the void to relearn the lessons of the past which is idiotic on my part, and shows my addiction.
