The popular streamer I always watch has been repeatedly losing to a few smurfs and is starting to lose motivation.
Every time they stream, a few smurf accounts show up and dominate the matches one-sidedly.
They report them each time, but it seems like no action is taken against those accounts.
Even though Overwatch is finally gaining popularity on Twitch, this could quickly cause that popularity to fade.
If rank manipulation and smurfing are left unchecked, Overwatch could be doomed.

The game has always had smurfs, and it isn’t dead yet. It’s not that big a deal.

Is that streamer relatively popular?
They could have stream snipers intentionally playing on alts to ruin their day.
Happened all the time to Arrge. Stream snipers would hard focus him even at the cost of winning the game.
There was supposedly a discord group of players to join with the sole intent of ruining his games.
imo smurfs are the least of my concerns for this game
that’s more likely just stream sniping than anything else.

I will summeon the mighty wizard Gargamel and he will stomp em all.
It’s different now because smurfs can keep opening new accounts for free, can get into wide groups, and with perks they can now build stomps much faster than before.
It is a big deal. And now it’s invading Stadium with smurfs picking dps supports because of the raw power available to them if they go offensive. I saw a 9 minute support queue today!!
