Ok can we all agree that this game is actually cooked and the only way this game ever gets back to where it was is 6vs6.
The same Mei game for like 8 years?! Oh my god I’m so excited to play……
Hazard is really underwhelming in both his design and his character is just so meh.
Rivals wins this season for sure and I’ll definitely be spending more time on it than Ow2 this Christmas

only way to get it back is almost a complete reroll.
1, obviously 6v6
2, pve revival in the form of archive events (give us 1 story mission a year to progress the story, and make the invasion missions free)
3, if there is already an expensive shop to bypess the grind, there is no law against putting in randomized free-rewards. The lootbox-banns only apply to lootboxes that need to be purchased, but being able to earn a random skin every 4-6 match would actually make the game worth booting up.

I dunno about cooked, but I had the choice today of buying the OW battlepass versus the Rivals battlepass and I picked Rivals. Despite wanting the Hazard skin and REALLY wanting the Moira skin, it’s hard to justify handing money to Blizz with Rivals sitting right there.
Hell, I forgot Season 14 was even starting today.

I just brought the rivals instead first time since season 1 I just have no drive now since games just don’t do it for me. I really enjoyed ow but think it’s time to try another game for a bit and see down line
By the time that’s finished Final Fantasy 7 would have a remake collection on the PS10.
Finish the main story, SURE make it free for online only but pay to keep and play forever.
Now people can rent the story and people can actually buy the story.

I don’t think it can be saved by anything.
6v6 is going to be implemented poorly and they won’t fix what issues it did have.

It´s not that great anymore…(or idk what´s your definition of “cooked”) I remember it being much better.
Yeah it’s over new season new hero and no bump in players, it’s deserved tbh
and yes you will still be able to find games even HOTS is not “dead” like that, it’s still in a very sad state

They need to stop being so greedy. That’s the only way they beat Mahvel. But this display is just pathetic.

It will probably be even worse since it will have things like suzu, life grip, etc. I hope they’ll at least nerf some of the burst healing supports got early into OW2 launch.

I don’t understand why people think 6v6 is going to save the game. The absolute worst boring slog metas in the history of the game were during 6v6. Players aren’t going to play what’s most fun, they’ll play what wins most games. If that happens to be double shield again, or something like Orisa+Mauga, I’m pretty sure the game will be deader than it’s ever been in 5v5.
I’m happy for you all who can just play Rivals, I tried it and didn’t like the hack’n’slash gameplay at all.

I don’t know if 6 v 6 is kenough to save OW anymore. But it is significantly better than 5 v 5.
Each Solo tank has very few actual gameplay choices when deciding what to do/how to progress in any given fight. It’s pretty stale. Even as a DPS or support, once you’ve seen one tank, you’ve seen them all. Game in, game out.
Here’s some quickmath to help understand why 5 v 5 is exponentially more stale.
OW1 = Unique combinations for 2 tanks with 8 hero options = 28.
OW2 current = Unique combinations for 1 tank with 13 hero options = 13. (This number goes up by 1 for each new tank).
OW2 6 v 6 = Unique combinations for 2 tanks with 13 options = 78. (This number increases exponentially for each new tank).
OW2 is more stale than OW1 (imo) because tank gameplay is so horrendously stale.
I will argue that likely a huge reason OP tank synergies required you to mirror the OP tank synergy, was due to the lack of tank heroes. = Lack of combinations of potential tank synergies.
And poor hero design choices also for sure. Namely Sigma and Orisa. And Brig and Bap.

honestlu the game needs to be taken offlienr and team 4 needs to find a new job
I really hope 6v6 becomes permentant in the future. I need this.

i think there are other ways to get some glory back.
A new director taking the reigns would be a great start.
that is up for their ability and effort to decide, if they choose this path
its not gonan save the game when the balance team is straight up garbage liek hazard needs to be removed form the game and toned down…no more catering to streamers
I’d argue that the added complexity just makes balancing exponentially more difficult. In OW1 some tanks were balanced or even rather weak in isolation, but when you stacked enough compatible abilities together, they became uncounterable in their meta pairing.
Things could again easily escalate into some tank pairing out of 78 being obviously more powerful than the rest, and after nerfing that pairing, those tanks might no longer be competitive at all unless they are paired, like they were in that meta.
I do see your point, but would still bet on 5v5’s manageable balancing resulting in more healthy and more predictable metas, and thus considerably more enjoyable gameplay experiences for all. Especially knowing how much Blizzard has struggled with the balance in the past.
Dont forget … They are nerfing tanks HARD for 6v6 … Just look up spilos interview with the devs
This is the other issue: tanks are already the least popular role. Even though the game needs half as many tanks compared to other roles to create matches, the tank queue is still constantly the shortest one, the bottleneck. 6v6 will both make the tanks weaker, and require twice as many people in the queue for similar queue times.
I personally don’t think it is realistic that the expanded tank synergies would double the amount of people willing to play tank, especially after reducing their individual potential. I could of course be wrong, and maybe the 6v6 tests will prove I am.
