I don’t understand why on earth they balance roles instead of balancing characters. No single character is like the other, giving global changes can mean absolutely nothing to one and making the other a juggernaunt.
Playing tank has been miserable in this game for quite a while, and I don’t really understand what’s so hard to figure about it. You either keep changing to the hard counter of the opposite tank or getting steamrolled, let alone dealing with the overwhemeling comic high damage output from hitscan dps’s, all the while everyone around you can’t die no matter how hard you try with this much get out of jail skills.
Just making tanks sturdier globally makes no sense. This will just be a huge buff to sustain tanks that will dominate the META and make the experience of every single other tank player miserable. What do they expect with it? Mirroring Maugas every single game and the first to get naded and discorded dies? Is that their idea of a fun experience?
At this point, they are just ignoring the root of the problem. People didn’t want to play tank in OW1 because it was miserable to be stunlocked by 7 different skills. Now people don’t want to play tank because they are either very, very good at it or they just have to deal with dying in 0.5 seconds from focused fire of a soldier and a tracer because you failed to pick the character that directly opposes the enemy tank.
Its not hard to figure out s76 and bastion do too much damage all they would have to do is lessen the dmg output of those 2 single heroes and also moira and the game would be playable
They gotta gluck gluck the Tank mains to keep the tank streamers happy. It’s obvious with this much of a buff that they are seeing less people want to play tank, so they have to bring them back in by doing something drastic or else the game fails.
it wasnt just 5v5 that messed up balance, it also was the addition of role passives. made it more of a balancing issue. whoever’s bright idea that was… lol
passives in general, now they have global wide passives and they fundamentally changed the game with increased hitboxes, more health for everyone and global passive healing
It’s just nonsensical, though, and it will not work the way they think it will. This will probably either result in a monopoly of select few tanks that will make the game unfun for any tank not playing them, resulting into them being nerfed into the ground, or the squishies will be just destroyed, resulting into something like “we increased dps damage globally by 20%” or some ridiculous take like that.
The devs went in a direction since ow 2 to change this game from a sequel to Ow Experimental the game.
Every other season is now new glorified Experimental mode.
If it’s an experimental mode that you like or benefits your Main then go on and feast.
When it’s bad, go play other games and avoid this season.
Because outside of that what else is there to do?
Very little progression and the ones you have moved at a snails pace. A BP filled with random cosmetics from worthless to overpriced. And even better cosmetics for random heroes you don’t even use.
Aw yeah, a victory pose for someone I never use outside of mystery heroes. WORTH IT!
My advice for the dissatisfied: treat this game like a rental. When it gets lame return it, and play something else.

No offense, but he’s a tank main. Of course he’s going to be thrilled their gigabuffing his role.
That’s just natural. It doesn’t mean it’s objectively correct.
