This game has adaptive params

Guys, it’s not possible… Your team starts to have an advantage in the match and this wonderful game starts to reduce the healing/damage that your team gives or hinder the capture of objectives. I’m not hallucinating, this is happening all the time.

In three previous games, I played Moira just healing all the time, every now and then I stuck to enemies to recharge the healing charge. I went to heal one of the DPS who literally had 1 health, my healing being drastically reduced, and the DPS had no debuff. It felt like I wasn’t healing. Almost mashing the mouse button, the healing charge running out and the DPS life bar rising ridiculously slower than normal.

Then I thought, this is strange… Okay.

There was a match just a few seconds ago. Our mercy is having extreme difficulty healing 10% of our orisa’s life. While the enemy’s mercy alone managed to heal the orisa’s entire life in less than 1 second? Bro… The other support wasn’t close, it was still respawning, the healing passive hadn’t even activated yet… That for me is “enough” of the nonsense I’m seeing in this competitive game.

Another thing in flashpoint. When your team is playing well and captures the point, the point progress capture starts to become ridiculously slow. Then the enemy, who until then was at a disadvantage, when they capture the point, the capture % counter starts to rise absurdly.

Another match happened to me now in New Junker City. In the first objective, my team was at a disadvantage, we captured it, I only saw in a few seconds the counter increase from 10% to almost 50%… In the third point, we already had a certain advantage, it took a long time to get from 20%, When the enemy finally managed to capture (it was at 0% capture) out of nowhere the counter rose quickly to 18% and then in less than a few seconds it was back to almost 60%?

So can I say that adaptive difficulty exists in Overwatch? It’s not really about skill, what matters is: if the enemy is playing poorly, “let’s give him a chance to play too”.

It’s not possible that this is just happening to my matches… I’m constantly looking at the match time and the time on the scoreboard. The time difference is stark. In the last flashpoint, there wasn’t even time to respawn… The enemy did a “team kill” on my team and magically they had already captured the 2 objectives… It was absurdly fast, it didn’t even take 1 minute.

Yeah no, she didn’t. Not on her own.

And if she did, or if any of the other stuff you’re saying happened did actually happen, it should be very easily provable.

Play at lower ranks and solo queue, there is definitely a parameter that benefits some player. Especially since we know that matchmaking loves to push troll players into any queue at all costs.

In the past, I thought it was because I was playing with difficulty because of the low FPS and the game crashing. Now even without the game crashing at high FPS, this is ridiculously visible.

Again, should be easy to prove. A mercy suddenly gaining 10x the healing amount is not a subtle adjustment lol. So post some replay codes to prove it. I’m sure there are plenty of OW streamers and news accounts that would love to get in on this drama if the evidence is so damning.

It only gets worse when I look at the stats on the scoreboard, I healed a lot and it appears that the other healer is healing more than me? This is complete nonsense, most of the time the other healer is dying. Only if it is the counting of statistics/problem in the game’s HUD.

As far as I know, sharing replay code on the forum is prohibited by the code of conduct. You can do exactly what I said. Play in solo queue, at low ranks and observe.

The purpose of me making this post is to see if anyone has had this same experience.

I used to post videos of this. No one cares. If it is true, the game is less then honest about its formulas, if its false, then people can keep believing in the system. People would rather blindly, or sometimes just put blinders on, so they don’t have to care.

It’s not. Only naming and shaming is not allowed. The entire purpose of replay codes is to be able to share them lol

That’s bizarre. Even at the time of Overwatch 1, no one understood how that SR was calculated. Out of nowhere you won the match and lost points, in the next you gained points. Totally meaningless.

In today’s competitive environment, it remains bizarre. Win two games and receive (let’s assume) 70% progress. Then you lose a match, rank progress returns to almost 30%.

The flashpoint one was bizarre, my team with a captured objective taking ages to increase the percentages, then the enemy comes with 0%, captures and takes it in less than seconds to almost 60%, that made me hate it so much.

The desire to quit the match was so great. The absurd anger he gave at that moment.

Yeah, it has to be something. I’ve seen so many times where Moira’s ulti just melted everyone in sight so easily and other times it literally just does “nothing” and you’re like what in gods name just happened?!. Only way to explain it are some behind the scene shenanigans.

Finally someone else had this experience. The worst part is that this is happening more frequently now. Many times your team is playing well, but the game starts to hurt the team. It’s horrible.

Ah, you want to see something worse. You are at the point capturing and when you reach overtime the game instantly defeats you even though you were at the point. This is happening straight away. Even people inside the point have a chance of the game losing/winning while they are contesting. This is clearly a bug.

It happens a lot in hybrid mode (Capture then Escort), when it should activate overtime contesting the game, stop, bug and declare defeat in the match.

I have no idea about all of these alleged in-game manipulations. I did have a game where it felt as if walls were against me. They wouldn’t protect me, but people plainly visible behind them would somehow have damage blocked even by hitscan shots to the head. It was wild.

I digress, after complaining about the walls for an entire round because nothing was working properly and the walls were out to get me, my sister just told me to go Sombra because walls do not matter to the Chupacabra. Totally worked. Easiest win of my life once the walls stopped abusing me.

Screw you walls! Get outplayed, son!

I just had a game last night where i direct hit a widow with a junk grenade and it took her health from full to 3/4. She still has 3/4 of her health from a direct hit junk nade, and it was a 1 v 1, she wasnt being healed.

I was gob smacked.

This also happened to me just last night in comp. 3 of us including myself were very clearly in point and the game just didn’t count it. It’s one thing if it’s 1 person, maybe your latency was behind for the server. It’s another thing when it’s more than half of your team, clearly on point seconds before the overtime bar runs out.

Imo it is rigging. Although i would also accept that the OW servers are just that horrendously bad all of the time.

What’s more likely? Utterly dog :poop: servers with dog :poop: maintenance of them at all times by incompetent people. (This is how often i experience issues that look like rigging, its basically every other game) Or intentionally anti-consumer practises and systems based on very real patents put forth by this very known anti-consumer company?

Honestly. Both are pretty likely events to me.

Post your replay code and tell us the times to look at with these supposed happenings, otherwise this is all just tinfoil hat theater.

galileo came from the tinfoil hat theater, as did everything else that ever mattered. crisp rat

I don’t think replay codes will work to show off any rigging. Replays see what the server sees, which would be different to what the player sees.

You would have to record your gameplay with a program like OBS or whatever is called.

Or better yet, show the replay code and the recorded game and put them side to side.

Yeah, I wanna see the replay code too, to see what he’s talking about.

None of this matters;

No amount of video showing the discrepancy will ever matter. They will write it off as bugs or ping.

Overwatch is ____show. But can be entertaining at times I guess.

I’ve been suspecting this for awhile. After playing this game since OW1 (Masters rank), I’ve been having a pretty accurate sense of my skill and everyone in my games just by observing. There’s games as DPS where my shots feel like they’re not connecting or there’s no regs and I go something like 6-13. While I’m observing my team who has like 0 coordination and playing around Gold level all go around 11-9 or so. I figured the enemy team is just focusing me, or there’s something seriously being manipulated with no regs and what not.
