Okay, so I am absolutely pleased with how they handled the release of this event. No spoilers, no hints, nothing. Had no idea Archives was coming today but now I am probably the most excited to get into game tonight and check out all this new content. All the skins are incredible, especially all the Legendary skins. Pharah’s is really cool, so is Ana’s, Junkrat has a diamond-plated grenade launcher, Hog apparently was apart of a rebellion, etc. Even though they were unable to add a new Archives mission (understandable due to OW2 production), this more than makes the event worth the wait. Great job!

I need someone with gold Junk weapon to post how that looks with a gold weapon. Doesn’t seem like it’ll change much, and I’m curious!

im sad honestly- i knew there was no new PVE event but the skins are for characters with multiple.
with a lack of content i’d hope they’d distribute some of it to those who have much less- but what can ya do
They probably have an array of skins ready for those without many, this Anniversary is the next event I believe and I can see some of those heroes getting some
I could see it just being like “MORE” gold, like a gold gun dipped in another layer of fresh gold. Still, the diamonds are a really cool addition

Heard that they banned 2 supports this week? Kinda curious how that would play out in competitive as a Support main (I swear if they banned Ana after they released that insane skin), but really stoked to get home and try it out

The skins are cool and all, but I’m really sad there’s no new mission - the reason why Archives was one of my favourite events.
They said back in Blizzcon that there would be no new event due to their production of OW2, but I am more than okay with the replacement being 6 new gamemodes over 3 weeks with the current Archives events.

I wasn’t tracking any news for OW because my interest is meh nowadays. Probably should have checked in sooner though, cause I was super disappointed by this event logging in. Didn’t know there would not be a new story mode. At least they’re working on OW2 though, which I’m looking forward to. Just gotta be patient, which means logging off and not playing OW for months again, lol.
I didn’t even know there was an event. I thought the threads about “the event” were old threads about mardi gras

Played both of the Experimental versions of the Uprising Mode. They’re cool and all that, but I wish I could play the original version as well as the original with all heroes, but no crazy rules.
You should be able to play the original story modes though? I saw it in arcade. Its the smaller card, directly top right from the big event card. If you go into it, you get story mode and unlimited mode.

For people looking for a quick 9 wins for the weekly challenges and the weekly arcade lootboxes play storm rising on normal. I haven’t timed it but I think it’s like 10-14 minutes per game (not sure). It’s the quickest guaranteed win you can get on the arcade. I did the same thing last year.
