It is a bit weird… any idea how it works in mystery heroes… because I heard that it was impossible to change
This was covered when she was on the PTR🤷♀️
It’s due to a technical issue according to the devs, so there’s not much they can really do about it
The excuse I’ve been hearing is that it is impossible for them to change it currently. I think they wouldn’t have had to do that if they didn’t have to.
They have to do something because is BS.
Imagine releasing a hero with a “that’ll do” because they can’t fix a tech.
She gets 3 lives while forcing you to stop on a hero? And they want this in OWL?
Yeah, honestly I’m kinda confused why they would have put Echo in the game now when they were totally aware of the technical limitations. Like, why not release a different hero while you work on fixing Echo’s ult?

Did he now? Well, that’s good to know. The moment my returned friends & family that pulled me back to Overwatch tire of it again, I’m back to Dead by Daylight. Because that was the most asinine, poorly thought out thing to add to a hero-swapping game.
I already had a list of issues with many of Jeff’s decisions over the years, not only in OW but also back in WoW. Enough is finally enough.
thats not really an ability more like a glitch or a limitation of the system.
I mean, they literally put a UI timer in there. It’s clearly intended.
Personally I think it has to do with how many models a game of overwatch can load in at once because they need to keep in the echo model the model of the player they transformed into but having them switch at the same time could mean their is a tenth model to be loaded into the game. and thats not including baby d.va, bob, turrets ect set.
that is of course if all players are using a different character or a different skin.
so most likely a limitation at the moment should be patched out sooner or latter.
If it’s a technical issue, they should have given us any of the other 5-6 heroes they were working on instead, preferably a tank or support. Not an unneeded DPS with a copy-paste of Orisa’s story, with a ‘bug’ covered up with an ability timer. It’s not like this is the only thing incomplete about her.
ah the thing about that their were just following their content roadmap anyway, as we get one support, one tank and then a dps hero, So considering that the last two were bapt and then and sigma meaning it was a dps turn to be released.
of course thats not to excuse the bug/ limitation but its how then been releasing content since launch.
This again. There is no pattern or rotation. She should have been ready at Blizzcon, and what have they used the extra time for?
Building OW2, an entire story compain, unique replayable missions, 5 or more heroes to release at Ow2 launch. an entire new game mode. the mini events reworks of paris and lunar colony. variations on event game modes.
Skins a slight addition to the training room. bug fixes, balance changes, marketing, dealing with a bad managment team that is activision.
you name it.

Those were already being done, what was the extra 4 months of delay on Echo’s release time used for?
well considering that game development can take multiple years without having to manage and update an entire other title at the same time.
I think all of that pretty much covers the basis.
