Just because I win 2 games in a row doesn’t mean I should be placed in a game that is 100% un-winnable.
If this stupid algorithm doesn’t die, then toxicity and loss in players will continue.

I used to be terrible. I actually decided to improve, got to diamond on an alt, and have a 79% win rate. Win like 8 or 9 games in a row usually.

Matchmaker has been trash for awhile. Don’t hold your breath hoping for a fix. Blizzard is too incompetent to do anything about it
Same reason why people will be making a new accounts and why I want to make a new account. Once you make your placement too early, it´s hell on earth to climb even months after you improved…cause you just don´t wanna queue anymore.
When I go on a win streak, I announce to my team that I’m going to throw.
At least I’m in control of the game.
Conversely, if I’ve been losing too many games in a row, I pull out my controller. It doesn’t matter what I do at that point.

It’s definitely not made up, it’s something that all multiplayer games use to try to keep games fair.
That said, players do often blame it for their own shortcomings. Contrary to OP, the game doesn’t put you in a game that’s “unwinable.” It’s just that some people will play better than you and that’s just how it is. You can’t win ‘em all OP.
They went into genuine details about how this works in an earlier forum post on the old forums.
It’s fully real and it’s built to literally force players into losing situations.

Because an algorithm can totally predict how coordinated teams are and when people are having good/off days? You know there is randomness to each match and that’s what leads to these losses right? Even when people smurf they still lose a few games just because, sometimes that’s what happens in a team game, if the team can’t work, they lose. As one player, you can only have that much impact in the game.
Why when I am smurfing from gold to diamond, this alghorythm is not working? I get 30 wins in a row, then I have to buy new account =( But when I come back to my elo,

They use a nudge up/down system for the MMR based on win/loss. The more nudges up, the harder your matches are supposed to become. They start pairing you with people who have many nudges down in a row to win for them, or for you to potentially reduce your up rated MMR. That’s how they described it, in a very similar method that I’m describing.
You quite literally get the guy who lost 50 matches in a row, to counterbalance your up nudges.
Sure you can fight your way out of this. That guy won’t though. He’s dead weight. If he’s on main tank and you only have an off tank, you better learn to swim.
You can still win those games. It’s just not as easy. Honestly it’s hard to accept it, but the best way to deal with comp in this game is just to accept that you cant control other people and just try to play to the best of your ability.
Its frustrating but I doubt blizzard will change that. I mean they haven’t changed any of the other matchmaker problems we’ve had.
