Things i want gone from the forums in 2019

The useless mercy threads: The threads either complaining about mercy threads, or threads complaining about people complaining about mercy threads. Good, well written and nice posts are welcome in my opinion, no matter if its a mercy thread or not.

The Brigitte hate threads: Just why, shes good at the moment and i just dont want more “NeRF HeR”

Hate train for both Genji and Tracer: Neither of them are OP, just leave them be shush

“This game is dying” Threads: we get it, you dont like the game anymore, you dont want it to be succesful. Just dont play the game and dont use the forums, thats it. Let others still enjoy it if they want to.

Posts that just made to annoy people: Although theyre quite a bit more rare now than they were in the beginning of the year, theres still some.

Posts calling Pro players out: Dafran, Seagull, etc. If they give their own opinion on the game, its their opinion, we dont need to make it into an issue on the forums. This isnt meant to say that all posts about them are bad, ones actually discussing the opinions and how theyd be good/bad are fine. But some posts just saying “Dafran is bad because of:_____” are just not good for the forums.

Addition by JoeyFerrs:
Post thay say “Sexism in Games” or “We need a transgender hero”

  1. Talking about any type of ism on a forum does nothing to stop hate. It only makes other people on that discussion think that their view on it is morally superior than others. I hate that these post garner the most attention.
  2. We don’t need a specific type of hero in the game. You may want one, but we don’t need one. This goes without saying, if you think we need a hero based on their sex, race, etc. that’s a problem. Heroes should be known for who they are not what they are. These also garner a lot of attention, unfortunately.

Addition by Wilkham:
Thing I don’t want to see on the forum is people saying old Symmetra was better cause of her autolock beam, Jeez . . .

Also, all the Ragg Tag thread like should stop.
And the last thing, I want Jeff Kaplan saying he love me and care about us.

Addition by Aster:
How about not bring up again posts about certian streamer who got banned but people dont seem to get that bans work base on reports not how stream goes.

Also dont bringing up all those “pro” players who left game, or not make posts about it as a complain threat about game. If someone left, then it dont mean game is bad, they just dont wona play it anymore.

Quîsp had quite a lot to say about this:
I’d like to see an end to the stirring the pot post by certain frequent forum posters, who get a charge out of bringing up the same topic just worded differently about every 48 hours. I am looking at you Sym and Mercy posters, you know who you are.

I’d like an end to “herp derp, this game is dying, I quit” manifestos… if you don’t like the game and want to quit, no one cares … just move on.

I’d like an end to the attitude that balancing the game for 5% of the player base makes any sense at all.

I’d like an end to all the childish posts asking for junk like Marvel skins and nonsense that doesn’t belong in the OW lore. What’s next, Star Trek skins? Come on, we need your favorite Anime skins in the game either, esp. not One Punch Man for Doomfist for pete’s sake.

And let’s not even get started on the SJW posting, we all have heard it 50 times over, and OW is one of the most “diverse” games out there…

Be sure to reply what else i should add on to this list and ill consider it <3

I wouldn’t miss the “I’m quitting Overwatch” threads if they were to disappear forever.

The useless mercy threads

They’re already gone… most of them

The Brigitte hate threads

I haven’t seen any in almost 2 months. I think most of the people are fine with her

Hate train for both Genji and Tracer

Those will be here forever unfortunately

“This game is dying” Threads

Crossing fingers for that one :crossed_fingers:

Posts that just made to annoy people

At least those can be sometimes funny

Posts calling Pro players out

Idk. Some of them are quite nice informative posts, that can even change someone’s point of view.

This isnt meant to say that all posts about them are bad, ones actually discussing the opinions and how theyd be good/bad are fine. But some posts just saying “Dafran is bad because of:_____” are just not good for the forums.

exacly!

I would like to get rid of the “Im QuItTiNg” posts. They’re just waste of space xd

Sorry but once they patch in the Hangzhou skins EVERY Overwatch hero can be transgender, because those skins happen to resemble the colors of the commonly used flag for it.

what i mostly meant by the threads in general are threads that happened a lot this year, and what shouldnt continue into 2019 :stuck_out_tongue:p

adding this to the list!

Someone wasn’t online 8 hours ago… There was a :poop:-fest of delete Brigitte threads it was awful.

OH jeez… im glad i wasnt online then

I don’t see a problem with repetitive threads. Simply mute the threads and voila.

Muting specific users would be nice. Hide any and all threads/posts made by them.

Otherwise, this is pretty much a discussion forum. You’re going to have all kinds of threads. Everyone has some bias towards/against some hero. Can’t really change that.

well this post isnt made to say that someone cant post whatever they want. but my view on what posts i just dont want personally to be on the forums.

I know. That’s what I meant. Hiding threads would be a QoL for you as someone browsing the forum without actually engaging in the conversation.

For example, you’re reading through General on a nice sunny Saturday, a bottle of Cola in one hand, and a bag of Doritos sitting on your desk next to your other. You see a thread titled “DAFRAN SAID”, you click it, you click mute, and you will never see that thread again.

The only way you can personally avoid those convos/threads is by not even visiting here. We all have topics we wish didn’t exist or were magically muted the second of their creation, but… the OW community is really intense when it comes to their mains.

Which is what i hate so much.

I want the overwatch community to finally even try to understand one another and not just jump into conclusions about someone just based on a hero they play in a video game

And that’s your opinion. But unfortunately for you, you don’t speak for the community. And all because you tell us they aren’t OP, doesn’t mean you’re right.

That’s just hypocritical considering everything else you’ve said above this is you saying ‘Brigitte is good at the moment’, ‘Neither of them are OP, so shush’ etc.
