Things Blizz removed from OW2:

Just your reminder that Blizz removed these things and made the game significantly worse and watered down in my opinion:

  • Portrait borders
  • Looking For Group
  • Free lootboxes for playing
  • Medals
  • After-match upvote cards
  • Match chat after POTG
  • General chat on main menu
  • Rank visibility in-match
  • Group visibility in-match
  • Endorsement indicator above everyone’s portrait
  • Endorsement categories
  • Priority passes
  • Winstreak bonus
  • Experimental card and PTR (pretty much never used anymore)
  • Cosmetics filter for all heroes (now only works for one hero at a time)
  • Environmental kill indicator in killfeed
  • Competitive stats data from before the 7 most recent seasons
  • 2CP maps/modes as core permanent modes
  • A 2nd co-tank on your team to synergize with/ help you out
  • Old tab screen (new one is so much worse IMO)
  • Percentage contribution to an elimination if multiple people helped
  • Certain animations for heroes when you click them on hero select
  • Esc key backs out of matchmaking queue/endorsement menu
  • Highlights, options, and Exit game buttons from main menu

Things that were also removed for a while but re-added in some way:

  • Account level
  • On-fire status
  • Post-match scorecard

All it would be is flamming OW2, and we cant have that now can we?.

Loved that map. What a shame its been shoved into the arcade where balance isn’t even considered :upside_down_face:

I just really miss Hanamura it was my favorite map :frowning:
Also Anubis was godly for some heroes and Numbani was nice

Volskaya can stay locked in the shadow realm forever though

Scorecard is pretty cool, even though I used to be on the fence about it in the past.

Oop I forget sometimes, why are we pushing Doom’s gauntlet in a payload anyway Blizz, he already attacked and is in the fold of the story for years now

I do kinda miss HLC though…if that’s even legal to utter that sentence

Nothing short of paid live monitors will stop toxicity. Unless you plan on removing crouching, teabggn will still be a thing. How far you wanna go?

I actually think they would potentially be really good now with things like 1 tank and the Bastion rework.

There’s a reason behind a lot of the stuff you mentioned. It’s ok to not like them but to say there’s no reason is pretty unfair.

I don’t think you can claim it’s objectively worse in every way. You might have preferred the medals but a fair amount of people don’t.

Otherwise I like that you put this list together.
