At this point last season we had a trailer, a blog post detailing all the big events and changes, and content creators having free reign to show whatever from the early access build
But this time around we got vague details about balance changes and a look at 4 skins
It really ain’t looking too good for season 5
I have to throw them a bone here… They already know no one cares about this season. Why bother investing that energy into what is already a failure? That seems to be their current philosophy.

Why hype it?
They essentially teased what they had for next season in their developer talk. The one where they said they couldnt deliver on the PvE talents and hero missions.
We should be seeing a non-canon PvE event next season I believe
there isnt much to see really. season 6 is where they are putting all their energy in. which isnt so good for engagement this summer

No point, everyone knows S5 is filler
This season 5 we don’t have a new hero or map (although I don’t count Talantis from S4 a “real” map), they are building the hype for S6.
Maybe S5 has really good BP, with good skins, S4 BP premium skins are one of the worst skins I’ve seen (for me), along with S3. S4 Doom? ugh, S4 Winston? ew, S4 Ashe? No, S4 Lucio? No.
S3 Reaper? fugly.
S5 skins, atleast I really like the Mythic Tracer skin, the Rein one, I don’t like, the Orisa one, I don’t like. Really hope the Rein and Orisa trailer skins are for the shop. The Genji is meh, I already have the Mythic Genji skin.

speaking of which, do you think the Xbox Showcase will have any PvE news? last couple years OW2 was seen at not-e3 sooo

No. Blizzard is not part of the XBOX showcase this year. All the Season 5 information, early access gameplay from content creators, etc. will drop on Monday.
It’s odd, in past seasons content creators had the permit to “leak” the content of the upcoming season 3-4 days before I think the actual start of the season.
This is not 100% correct. This only was the case for Season 1,2,4. With Seasons without any major content such a new Heroes, the Content Creators released footage of it very close to the release of the next Season.
The press, content creators and pros have access to the season 5 build since 2 weeks. My guess is that they were able to see the BP, skins, balance changes, the new on fire system and this was all. There is nothing big to hype / announce on.

Yeah, I don’t even check the actual dates when the content creators “published the whole Season” before the actual launch day. I remembered it being just days before, my bad. My only hope is that the Rein, Orisa and Genji are from the shop, (maybe the new emote for genji is part of a bundle?), but it seems they’ll be part of the premium BP, seriously, why even add new legendary Genji skins, we already have the Mythic one.
I kind of hope the genji one is in the battlepass just for the campfire emote but the other two would be a waste of space

I have the feeling that the skins they already showed in the teaser are part of the BP. This teaser video was also very likely a teaser for the upcomming “Questwatch” Event.

I mean it’s pretty clear they’re holding all the content for season 6.
They are saving new hero and a new map for season 6 . s5 is not in their focus .
Lol now they put out the season 6 trailer before the season 5 trailer it’s that grim
