They really didn't think these Sombra changes through

So it’s pretty clear from playing these changes that the flanking/assassin playstyle is pretty much dead. You can do it. But the risk/reward is so hilariously lopsided that’s it’s really not worth it. It goes without saying this means spawn camping is also pretty much dead which was their goal but it also came at the expense of flanking entirely.

The most effective playstyle for Sombra is to now basically frontline and hack the tank. Occasionally you can go for a little off angle but don’t stray too far from the team. Having to frontline is incredibly boring but that’s whatever. However for a hero to have to play the frontline and have 225 HP? It just doesn’t make sense. It seems kinda clear the devs didn’t think these changes through and sadly it confirms conspiracy theories. There is a certain hero who exists in the backline and the changes seem designed to completely remove Sombra from there…

Tbh I don’t think there’s anyway to make this version of Sombra work. She feels so very clunky and not at all in line with the stealthy assassin archetype. At this point it would be better for a full rework and remove invis all together.

The best option would be a full revert and removing the person that did the changes from the team. The changes have been clearly made out of spite and have nothing to do with balance.

I think she’ll be coincidentally adjusted after Widow’s season

I find the rework fun, except for the part with the clunky teleporter and that she’s now a tank buster.
Really, someone who bullies Orisa and Mauga are good in my book, but she’s an inconsistent glass canon. AND she can hose down squishies.
Doing business together with your own tank feels great though, almost like it’s a team game again.

I think this change just kills her identity entirely. I play her like Sombra76 now which is  . She’s a throwpick if you try to play her like before. I’m a bit biased because I am a Sombra main but this is the first time I ever felt a rework was a 100% failure.

I haven’t played her but it seems you have to hang around the frontline, off-angled ready for heals or to translocate back to your team/supports/backline. Hack tank, 1 second hack is pointless, do some meaningless tank damage, repeat.

Yup. You can flank if they have the ideal backline for you. Like a Zen, Juno or something weird like that. The supports that countered you before hard counter you even more so it’s not even worth trying. At one point I basically just swapped off her and decided I might as well just play generic hitscan like Ashe or S76 lol.

I mean any hitscan has almost always been better than Sombra (or any hero?), but you know it’s bad when Sombra players don’t feel like the hassle of forcing her. I play so little at the moment that there’s almost no shot of me trying her out.

That 2 seconds between unstealthing and when translocator comes back seems like an eternity when 3 people are looking at you

And yet somehow she’s always had a negative winrate so clearly it’s not that easy.

And apparently she’s the ONLY counter to the most broken thing ever created? Does this make sombra above widow?

Hope the nerfs are enough to never see her again.

She’s the easiest counter. Tbh I kill Widow easier on Genji/Tracer/Echo when she has a pocket.

I main genji, and never had problems with widow. They always insta swap to Cass/mei.

Sombra can be deleted completely

Lol

“My feelings are more valid than you all!”

God, people like you are insufferable.
I hope you will survive when she inevitably gets buffed since she’s pretty bad.

My hope is that Sombra players don’t stop playing her, even though she seems pretty bad.

Learn to play the game like the rest of us. 99% won’t miss this toxic character

I don’t think you have any grounds to tell people how to play after saying you want her deleted. That would mean you have audacity.

I’m gonna be so annoyed if her win rate increases lol

I don’t tell u how to play, just learn to as ur hero actually take some skill now.

LOL someone is mad about Sombra.

Ontopic: Yeah Invis is supposed to be there to engage, and TP to disengage, this change was absolutely dumb. Like my guy, what do you want me to do? Play her like Soldier, use TP … go behind, hack and then? … wait for 2 sec to use TP again?

Unbind Invis from TP , make the TP on Space bar (jump) to make her TP on the direction she is looking (yes AIR tp works too).

I don’t think that 2 second part is the issue. If you wanted to hack at the end of stealth, and try and attack, by time you we’re ready to run away, the 2 seconds are generally up. The issue is when there is a good opportunity to attack when you have like 3 seconds left on the stealth. Now you have 5 seconds before you can run. If it was always 2s on translocator after breaking stealth, I don’t think that would be too bad.
