This games going to trend down so hard after season 2 (The last new hero) until season 4.
They’re not adding events or doing patches enough for the game to get 0 significant content for multiple seasons no one plays the games for maps.
Season 3 is gonna be dry af, at least its better than OW1 since there’s gonna be a new map but no new hero is L

Next event is Winter Wonderland that occurs in December.
And these seasons are the same length as other games and their seasons. Roughly 9 weeks/63 days.
Keep in mind that Season 3 is the season that launches the PvE modes for Overwatch 2, so there’s that going for it.
Btw December is during season 2 I’m talking season 3 onwards so clearly you weren’t reading what I was talking about.
Okay, fine, Season 3 launches the PvE Modes for Overwatch 2.
That alone is likely to keep folks entertained, since they’ll be adding more to that as well over time.

You 100% will have to pay for PvE and you can keep this receipt for later to brag if I’m wrong, because there is no way no way no way PvE is going to be free.
we know there is a big hotfix issue, which we hope will definitely fix this Tuesday.
more than anything else we have no idea what should make season 3 interesting as a BP without the new hero as an “incentive”. 
With what they did for halloween the hype for the events is very low. We have seen that the pVE runs out too quickly if there is not also a certain sympathy in collecting … and OW2 has made collecting an exclusive while paradoxically the BP has become the only buyable standard (and it should be a ’ exclusive, for its unique content ) it is horrendous to see standard things being treated worse than an exclusive blizzcon.
That was the old Overwatch 2 that was announced back in 2019.
That version of OW2 was going to be launched as a AAA game, with PvE modes, but it would also have crossplay between Overwatch 1 (because at that time they were aiming to launch two separate games). You would have had to pay for that version of OW2.
That changed when they announced the new OW2 which is the one we have now. OW2 is completely Free to Play and the PvE modes launching in S3 will also be completely free.
They could add a new mode and bring back hanamura, anubis, and a new map which are playable and work with the new mode. Maybe a remastered version of 2cp. Idk.

Yep, Blizzard’s own roadmap confirmed it. PvE modes launching early 2023. They talked about it during announcements as well when they were discussing the seasonal content. S3 is going to be starting in February.

If pve was paid, let’s say 20-30 dollars, it would be worth if you can get premium overwatch coins by completing missions. But hey, this is blizzard
