These queue times. Big yikes

10+ minutes still not very balanced games. I fear this will kill off a large chunk of the player base.

Less players=even longer queue times so…

I’ve been a bit harsh towards complaints for this in the past, but I will say that there is a disproportionate number of players who want to play dps, considering the demand for them has always been lower.

I think dps players should and will just have to live with the fact that their queue times will be much longer going forward. The consensus that Blizzard seems to have gotten from the community was that players from all levels and from all roles would accept longer queue times in exchange for balanced teams.

As a tank main, I truly am enjoying near instant queue times into balanced matches where everyone knows what their role will be ahead of time. For once, I can rest easy knowing my team will be balanced. I know the price is 10 minute queue times for dps players, but hey, the games are now properly balanced.

Not if only dps players are quitting. Queue times will shrink for dps, and be the same for everyone else.

not very?

today i have only tanks so stationary soon the gonna grow roots there. dosnt matter if you kill 2-3 they just stand theire with the shield up. anas cant hit any heal. yes im standing like 10 feet away from here TOTALY still. People are so far away from theire SR that its TOTALY a joke. like wtf is this.

yeah its the same on the enemy team some times but its not enjoying. its like a circus

Yeah not gonna lie, GM queue times are like upwards of 10-30 minutes a game which is insane to me. Like i sometimes just wanna play DPS in diamond/masters and it takes 10 minutes a game like why?

Previously: Often 4+ minutes to get into a game, only to get 3-4 DPS players. Which either led to having 3-4 DPS players, or someone on a role they don’t like, aren’t good at, and complaining about it.

Now 2 or less minutes for healer/tank, and 5+ minutes for DPS to not get that issue. Seems pretty good to me.

I warned everyone that role lock would not automatically bring better team synergy than we had before. People would still ignore it and say that they would be willing to wait for it.

I also said that 10 minutes is probably the breakpoint for many players. Makes no sense to spend more time in the queue than the match itself. One of the biggest advantage of Overwatch matches is that they are relatively short, just lasting about 10~15 minutes each. But for you to enjoy those quick matches one after another, you need short queue times.

I’m honestly happy for those who are enjoying the current situation, but I expect a mass exodus if Blizzard don’t back out of the plan to bring role queue to QP in september.

Just because you are in a rank that isn’t affected by terrible queue times doesn’t mean everybody is. How would you feel if you had to wait 30+ minutes for a game?

What rank would that be? When I watched Emongg and Slayer they didn’t have very long wait times at GM. And Slayer was playing DPS only.

As for times I’m fine waiting the 5+ when I want to play DPS. I also really like how this new system actually tells estimated time to match up and it’s so far been rather accurate. If that kept being the case, I’d just go do something as I waited. Bit of cleaning, some work, a snack, alt tab to play another game or pull out a hand held, etc.

TLDR be mildly annoying, but overall wouldn’t be that bad to me.

I feel this will encourage GROUPING! which is the best outcome.

GM. People wait upwards of 2 hours without getting a match which are documented on streams. Personally I only did my 5 placements in low masters and had queues of 10-15 minutes. Which is still unacceptably long since that’s how long a game itself takes anyway. Tank is a game within 30 seconds.

Sounds like they need to brush up on their social skills.

Eh? Maybe I’ve watched at the wrong times but as noted that’s not what I saw the times I watched.

Also this is beta. It’s not an actual season. Many don’t care to play in the off season, and this is exactly that. If it stays into an actual season there should be more players which would help.

Also if tanks match in less than a minute while DPS are waiting 2 hours doesn’t it say something about the state of the game itself and how ranking has been handled up until now?

Yes it says tanks are not enjoyable to play and Blizzard keeps making them less so with every patch. They need to make tanks more fun to play so people actually want to play them.

2/2/2 isnt worth 10 min Queue times.

Honestly, I don’t mind them much but then again I like being able to do things between matches.

There’s also the age old argument that DPS generally have an easier time gaining SR and losing SR. That the system has always been positively biased towards DPS.
